Advertise with an e-mail marketing system. It is unfortunate that today e-mail marketing is so ineffective. It doesn't have to be that way. What was once a good thing was abused so that now when we think of e-mail marketing we think of spam. Honest e-mail marketing is effective and used properly can be as powerful a marketing tool as it ever was. Let's talk about some of the good, the bad, and the ugly (to borrow a phrase).

The good is that e-mail marketing is easy, it's too easy, that's why it was abused. It was easy to buy thousands of leads with e-mail addresses and send out our unsolicited e-mail to everyone on the planet who had a computer and an e-mail client. This worked for a few for a while. Then there became a back lash of all the trash e-mail and creative webmasters built spam filters. This greatly reduced the number of unwanted emails but also filtered out wanted and desired emails. This practice is still in effect on the Internet, both the spam and the filters. So that's it. It was easy (good), it was abused (bad) and now the ugly truth is that we, who want to use e-mail marketing, have to live with the ugly results. But there is hope if we change our ways and do it correctly.

Correctly, means finding people who want or would at least be interested in what we may have to offer and who have opted in to receive it. That means we are only sending our valuable information to ones who have requested it, and to no one else! This changes the dynamics of the whole picture. Others want what we offer and if they change their mind or find after receiving it that they no longer want it there would be an opt out link at the bottom of each page of content. Easy opt in, easy opt out. Only people who want it get it and when they don't they won't. Simple...and beautiful,...and effective because it works.

So let's look at the idea behind a proper e-mail marketing campaign. First and foremost we want to help our possible prospect become acquainted with us, get to know, like and trust us. If we do not accomplish this first objective there will be no value in anything else we send to them. People do business with people they have some kind of relationship with. You say that you don't have a relationship with Sears or Walmart, but I would suggest that over time you have been exposed to enough direct advertising, referrals from friends or people whose judgement your trust or perhaps just even shopping there and having a good experience, so trust begins.

Advertising with an e-mail marketing system like Veremail, makes it possible to gather premium leads, people who have opted into the Veretekk system that initially gives them something of value, at no cost to them. If they like what they have received there should be no objection if you send them an e-mail thanking them for using your system, followed by other emails containing valuable marketing information. The important part is that this follow up information should not be promoting and pushing a product or service, they can get that anywhere. What you send out should be information that can stand alone as having value that would be of interest to the person who found value in the free service that was initially offered. Advertise with Veretekk. The more time I spend with the technology of Veretekk and the people of Veretekk the more I realize the value of using it to advertise your business. You see, Veretekk, isn't just another automated marketing system. Oh, I know we call it that, and it certainly is, but it is much more. It's like an idea, a concept, perhaps even an organism, because it's always chanaging, in a moving forward kind of way. The technology is always in a state of upgrading and being reinvented to keep up with the technolegy revoloution that is going on all around the world.

There was a time when I thought of Veretekk as primarily a lead generation program. In fact it still is that and it not only generates leads but the leads are exclusive to the owner of each individual system. But it seems as though lead generation is kind of operating in the back ground as Veretekk becomes more of an SEO tool. Even that part of it is now evolving into a unique marketing and advertising tool which can be used with any kind of a business that wants to increase it's spherre of influence on the internet.

Actually, that phrase,"expand it's sphere of influence on the internet", is a term that has been used since I first became acquainted with Veretekk in the late '90s. So it's mission hasn't changed but what someone can accomplish by using it has greatly expanded. That brings up the "group". I mentioned that Veretekk is organic because it's is not just great and creative technology but there are real people behind the scenes making the changes. Financial Literacy-How do we start?

Perhaps you received your first money as an allowance or your own lemonade stand. To be sure what your earned or were paid would have been insignificant compared to what your earn today. But nevertheless, it was a start. What you did with that first money probably set the stage for the way you have handled money since then. If you spent the money as quickly as you got it, it's likely that you don't have much extra money today, unless you became financial literate and learned how to handle your money. If you held on to you r money so you could save up to buy something you really wanted it is likely that you have a similar pattern with money today, unless you have learned some bad habits of debt.

Debt, oh! my, that's a trouble maker. We will deal with it at length later on. There was a time back in our cultural history when being in debt was, well, it was frowned upon. The standard was to keep short accounts so that you would own no one, except as it says in the Bible, to love them. Debt has become so prevalent that it is not uncommon for high school students to have a credit card and be in serious debt by the time they graduate from school. Our federal government has been an excellent role model for those aspiring to become debtors for life.

So let's begin with "mind set". Mind set is the way we tend to think about things. You might be more of a negative mind set or positive mind set, either way you will be affected and do things a certain way based on the bent of your mind. The great thing about mind set is that if we don't like the way it is today we can do certain things to change it and make it go the direction that we choose. I know that many do not believe we really have choices about this but the marvel is that we can have control of our thoughts and the way we think about things. The great psychologist and philosopher, William James said this:"The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind."

I'll give you an example. As a youth I was very shy. I read books about building confidence and learned about the affect we have on our lives when we change the way we think. It took some years but when I became a salesman I was quite comfortable in meeting new people and talking with people whom I had only met moments before. We also can change the way we see a cup of water, half full or half empty. One is positive, the other is negative. There are many books, tapes and CDs that will help anyone in this regard. Let me know if you would like some recommendations, I have several.

Remember, we were talking about money. That too can be either seen in a good light or a bad one. So often we hear the saying, from the Bible, that money is the root of all evil...but that's not what it really says. Here is a quote directly from I Timothy 6:10 says: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." (NIV) Money in and of itself is not bad. But when we love money that changes our direction away from the good we can do with money, like support our family, build schools and hospitals and all the things we do to help with our daily living. Those who love money are doomed to failure, sadness and disappointment because money itself does not satisfy.

In Revelation Jesus points to the church in Laodicea that is proud of the fact that they are prosperous and says, "You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." This is the situation when the love of money sits higher in esteem than just the money itself. Money is a unit of trade and when kept in the right perspective is a valuable tool for you to use. We want to help you make the most of it so you will be a good steward of what you have and what has been given to you.

Financial Literacy-In the beginning,...

I grew up on a small farm 10 miles Northwest of Richland, Washington. My father was a part time farmer in that he also worked as an electrician at the Hanford Project, where they made the fuel for atomic bombs. As an electrician he was in one of the higher paid blue collar trades. I never knew what his income was because we were not to ask a question like that and besides we just didn't talk about money things at our house, consequently, I grew up financially ignorant.

I have learned this in my years above ground. It is not uncommon that money and finances are subjects that children are not privy to, in a home where the primary income is from wages. On the other hand it is not uncommon for business and finances to be discussed where the primary income is from a business or entrepreneurial activity. I don't know why this is so, but the end result is that those of us who grew up without any discussion of money and how to handle it leads to improper use of credit and no understanding of how to use money.

In the beginning Adam was given charge over the garden and was to tend it or be the steward. In our modern culture our labor is more often paid in money and we also are to be good stewards of it. That is our provision. But how can we be a good steward if we have never learned how to do it? That's why we need to get educated, on our own, from those who have learned and are willing to pass the knowledge along to us.

There are a number of places to gain this kind of wisdom, many are free, some we have to pay for. The main thing is that weather we pay or find for free we are going to have to invest some time in the learning process. If we are not willing to pay the price we will continue to scrape along from payday to payday and in the end have little or nothing to show for our labors.

There is much talk about being prosperous or even wealthy and checking on the Internet it looks like it's fairly easy to do that. But the truth is there are laws and disciplines necessary to acquire and maintain wealth. If we fail to learn them, even if we should win the lottery, we will end up the same, with little or nothing. Here's the exciting part...if we will take the time and spend some money to gain the knowledge and develop the disciplines we can become good stewards and make the most of what we have as well as add to it the way a good steward would do.

Let's lay down some fundamentals. First of all we can throw out "get rich quick", it's a recipe for failure and disappointment. Even if you do get rich quick you will soon lose it because of the lack of training in handling money. Next let's get rid of the ideas of "easy money". Generally, there is work involved with any kind of financial success. More important we need to understand even why we should want to gain more money. If it's just to buy more stuff there will be no real gain. If it is to provide for others or perhaps set up a legacy for your family that is beginning to be on the right track. If your purpose becomes lofty in that you attempt to raise others up to a higher level of literacy or understanding then your blessings will not only show up in your bank account but also in the blessings your receive of an intangible kind, these are the real reward.

Financial Literacy-what is it?

When we think of financial literacy, if we ever do, what does it mean to us? What do we really know about managing not only the money we do have but also making the best use of any discretionary income? There are any number of places to learn about money management. We could buy a book with an author like Susie Orman or Dave Ramsey or we could take a course in handling money. So why are we, as a group of middle class citizens, so financially ignorant?

I think it's because it takes time to learn about money and we either don't have the time or just don't want to "make" the time. Yet it is one of the most important parts of our life. Think of it, how much time do we spend at getting the money we have? And how much time do we take to learn the best way to use it? Sobering questions unless you are already financially literate.

We will be discussing these and related questions and ideas in this and other blog entries. The idea is to stimulate a conversation between you and me and others who are more literate in financial matters so that we each become expert and will be able to help and advise, where wanted, our children and friends about handling money. These are things we normally do not learn in our normal school education. It's as though you just grow up knowing about how to do it without ever getting training. What we do learn is how to sign up for credit cards and how to write a check but that's the easy part. We need to know where money comes from and where it goes and how to make the best use of the portion that goes through our own personal bank account.

Some of the subjects we will talk about are, saving, investing, borrowing, budgeting, debt, taxes, retirement and anything else that would pertain to the gaining and use of your money. Then there are the present economic conditions. Should we be investing in gold and silver, or what about stocks and bonds. Perhaps real estate is the best way to go, maybe not today but then when? Do we know about wealth cycles and market trends? Truth is, we can learn all about these things. We cannot afford to say it just doesn't interest me or I don't want to get involved. If we are alive on planet earth we "need" to know about these things. So what we will do is make it palatable and bite size so you can gradually become financially literate and learn to make the most of what you have.

There is a story in the Bible where Jesus is making a point of gaining the most with what we have, it goes like this: The Parable of the Talents.

Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

After a long time, the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.” His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

The man with the two talents also came. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.” His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

Then the man who had received the one talent came. “Master,” he said, “I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.” His master replied, “You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. “Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

The Value of honesty

The value of honesty

The value of honesty in business can not be minimized. I know that there have been times, in the recent past, where we have seen blatant dishonesty in business dealings. At the same time we have seen the disastrous consequences of that loss of integrity. Actually, the whole idea of business is based on the ability of both parties in a transaction to be able to trust each other. So what does that mean for you and me as we build our business online and around the world?

It means that before we even enter into the idea of beginning or building a business we need to have, as a core principle, a strong sense of honesty. This isn't even a matter of faith or belief. Integrity is so important that if we feel we cannot be honest in our business dealings we had better not even get into business. I know this sounds elemental and perhaps even childish, but do you know how often we run into the misuse of honesty? For example, it is amazing to find how many fellow human beings will not only steal from an employer but consider that what they steal is owed to them because they work so hard and don't get paid what they believe they are worth. Do you know anyone who has ever done that?

If we are able to be dishonest in a situation like that we are dishonest. A bank robber doesn't become a bank robber because he robs banks...he robs banks because he is a bank robber. The thought and intent comes before the crime. In the same way, if we don't face this and move forward in our business activity with a dishonest heart, the time will come when we are faced with a choice that will depend on weather or not we are honest. If we are not honest in our heart we will make the wrong choice and perhaps destroy everything we have worked for. At the same time we will also destroy the faith and trust that has been built up over the previous years with our customers and clients.

Deuteronomy 25:15 puts it this way: "You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you." (NIV). Leviticus 19:36 says, "Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt." (NIV). This is just a reminder that being honest in our dealings with others is considered a high priority from the One who will Judge the world. That makes it have some eternal consequences, if you know what I mean.

Let's have some gratitude. It's good for you.

Gratitude? That may sound like a strange way to build a business online but let's think about it for a minute. What is gratitude and why would it be an important ingredient in our entrepreneurial character development? Gratitude is a state or an expression of appreciation for who your are and what you have been given. Think like this...you have been given life and all that comes with it. As a Christian I am thankful to my God. If you are of another faith or no faith I expect that you, in some way, appreciate the same thing and the blessing comes when we are thankful for them.

As we think in terms of gratitude and thankfulness we are affected in the way we relate to others. With a spirit of appreciation we tend to think more highly of others than we do ourselves. As we do this others will sense it and perhaps for no reason they understand will respect or hold us in a measure of esteem that would be lacking if we were less grateful. I'm speaking from my own experience and not as any kind of expert. Judge for yourself, have you ever experienced what I just explained? If not, in looking closer, could it be that you do not have an attitude of gratitude? Usually, we find our concerns closer to home than we would like to think they are.

No matter, there is always the possibility of change. I would not ever suggest anyone change their personality or even their character. That doesn't mean it should never change it just means that I would not be the one to suggest it. These things are up to us, ourselves...we have to decide if we want to become more amenable to our potential clients or customers. If we want to win them to our side we need to have their interest ahead of our own. This a basic rule of human relations and beneficial interactions.

By this I don't mean "sucking up" to any one or "kowtowing" to them either. It is something that comes from deep inside you or me. It is at the heart of our being and is expressed in our personality and character. Turns out that if we have a spirit of gratitude it just becomes a part of who we are. It gets to a point that we couldn't be ungrateful if we wanted to. After that we begin to look for this trait in others so as we gather our team together we just seem to attract people with a similar attitude. This will make a solid foundation for our business enterprise.

Next we will chose a time honored word to express one of our most important character qualities for long term and sustained business success. That word is, "honesty".

You want Freedom? Come and get it!

You want freedom? Come and get it..

Today the word is "Freedom". Freedom is a multi faceted word, It has many different meanings, depending on who you are and what are the circumstances. For the dog in the yard it means finding a hole in the fence so I can go do more exploring and meet new friends. For a man in jail it means and unlocked door and a full pardon. The kind of freedom I'm talking about is time freedom and the freedom to choose what I do and where I go. It also means Financial Freedom and all that pertains to it.

True financial freedom is not a certain amount of money or income. When I talk about financial freedom I mean that I have enough money to live comfortable weather I go to work or not. It means not being tied to a job with fixed hours and someone telling me what hours to work and what I'll be paid or when I can take a vacation and how long I can be gone. I have to admit, I'm not there yet but am certainly moving in that direction as I continue to daily build a foundation for my own money machine.

Earlier we talked about the importance of "why". the reason we would even want to build a business online. Very often, at the root of anyone's desire to have a money machine, is the desire for financial freedom. Since we are trained from our earliest years to prepare to become employees rather than business owners our conditioning about financial freedom is to get a career, earn a good living and then retire with less than we were getting along with before.

Then someone like Robert Kayosoki comes along and tells us the story of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and our eyes are opened to the possibility of having no limits to our income or our time freedom. Something inside us stirs and our imagination comes alive and from that point on we will be dissatisfied until we begin the journey to become free. Building your own business online so that one day you can become financially free is one way millions of potential or actual entrepreneurs around the world are fulfilling this dream.

So in considering your interest in creating an income source with your own money machine you need to think of just how important your freedom is to you. If you are like Patrick Henry who declared,..."give me liberty or give me death", and you want your freedom bad enough to do whatever it takes to get it, you are off to a good start. If it is something you are casual about or it's not very important to you perhaps it would be better to just keep doing what you're doing now.

The door is open to you. You have to decide. Then you have to act. You do well. It's true in the spiritual realm and it's true in the physical. If we just want to talk about freedom or think about it and do nothing about attaining it or protecting the freedom we have...it is dead. But we still have choices so let's continue to move forward toward our dreams and highly esteemed expectations.

You need Energy

Energy

To sustain the activity and growth of your new enterprise you need energy. I'm not talking about energy like hydro-electric power or gasoline. The energy you need to build your own business is vital energy, the kind of energy that makes you jump out of bed in the morning and keeps you going all day. If you are going to be focused and working on your money machine you need stamina and that takes energy.

Your body functions by burning the fuel you put into it. If you stop feeding your body it will soon "run out of gas" and stop. You have no doubt seen people who are starving and they can do little more than just sit and stare. That's an extreme situation and I doubt you will ever be there, but the principle remains the same. Your body burns calories and if you don't give it calories to burn it will shut down. This is all pretty basic and I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir. After all you learned this just be living and also the health class in school.

Today we live in a fast everything society. Our traffic is fast, our work is fast, our communications are fast and much of our food is fast. So much of our life is fast that we seldom slow down enough to learn about nutrition and why we should eat certain foods and why me may need to supplement our diet with extra high nutrition foods to make up for the poor quality food we get at the store or the fast food restaurant. If you don't know what I'm talking about I would suggest you watch some of the excellent food documentaries like these or these.

I eat as much organic food as is practical. I grew up on a farm, long ago, where we never heard the word organic because everything was. There wasn't such a thing as food that was "un organic". But, alas, times have changed. commercial farming mass produces everything and does make it cheaper but in the end we pay a price for it in poorer health and sick bodies. The way it was is no more. But that doesn't mean you have to accept it as it is even though you may like the nutrition less food you have. If you are not aware of the relationship of good, high quality and nutritious food to you daily energy level and continued good health, I would suggest that you slow down and take time to learn about it. One of my favorite resources in Natural News. I recommend it as a daily, free, online way to learn and keep up on information that will add years to your life and life to your years.

Since this series is being done alphabetically and we are on an "E" word today, next time will be the "F" word. What? Oh! no, not that one...the important one: Freedom!!

Dedication and Development

To create a good foundation for your business requires Dedication and Development. You must become dedicated to applying focused attention towards your objective or perceived goal. You must be willing to allow your personal development to be altered in such a way that will lend itself toward the fulfillment of your desired outcome. In other words you must be teachable because there is a learning curve involved weather you have earned or made money in other venues of not. Marketing yourself and your business on the Internet has some very real differences from marketing off line.

Are you willing to become dedicated to your craft by developing the character traits required to accomplish the task?

Regarding dedication, perhaps it's best to think of it like an athlete might approach the idea of becoming the best player at his or her game, whatever it is. They would be willing to set aside some present pleasure or pursuit in order to spend time developing their skills and stamina. They would "make time" to do the things that were necessary for their success. So to does an online marketer have to set aside time and preferences to make a way to establish new skills and habits that will compliment the new endeavor.

Some things to consider in the area of personal development would fall along the lines of a willingness to change habits and ideas or set patterns of living that may interfere with establishing the activities you will need to be doing every day in order to succeed in your business. One example of this would be daily writing new content for your website or blog. I personally struggle with this and yet i know it is of utmost importance in order to grow my business. As mentioned before, adding new, fresh and relevant content is important in obtaining a good position in the search engines.

Another necessity is to daily add to our own knowledge of our product or service, our attitude, our personal habits of organization and setting goals and our determination that nothing will stand in the way of accomplishing our chosen objectives, assuming that they are in line with honorable principles and don't get a higher priority than your God and your family.

Let's touch on dedication for a moment. Actually, I think a better term would be focused attention. That would be to develop the skill of keeping your eyes on your goal or purpose, even while other interests may intrude on your thoughts or activities. Think of the hawk you see sitting on a phone pole. He has one thought in mind (that is if hawks think like that) and that is, "what's moving down there that I can eat." After it's through eating it may go play in the air currents. But while it's on the job it doesn't get distracted, neither should we.

Next we will take a look at what part "energy" plays in into our plans for building a successful money machine for making money online. That will be our "E" word.

If you plan to build your own money machine you will need to regularly ad keyword specific content. This content must be fresh and original so that you don't have any copywriter concerns. Besides that it should be content that originates with you because you have something to share in a way that no one else could do it. You and your personality are what makes the difference.

SEO or search engine optimization is what will get your website or blog to the top of the search engines. A key part of SEO is the content that you regularly add to your site. You see, the spiders or bots that the search engines send out to look at your site and respond to the new added content on your site. Think of it this way. Someone enters a keyword into the search box of Google. If that keyword is the same as your keyword the spiders will bring it up for the searcher to look at. What you want is for your page to pop up on page one of the search because the first or second page gets most of the traffic.

The more often you change that content by adding to it the more the spiders like to come and visit to see the changes. If nothing new is added they stop visiting your site because they "know" there is nothing new there. Does that make sense? Keep in mind what we said earlier, the search engines job is to find information for the searchers, the people who need it. That's why it's important to have your content be keyword specific. The search engines look for keywords and also words that might be associated with them.

Obviously, there is more to gaining top position on Google or any other search engine than adding fresh, keyword specific content, but it is one of the most important parts. You will learn about linking and back links and a lot more, but just remember that if you are going to have a business on the Internet you will need to either write, or learn to write, or hire someone to do the writing for you. Any site that gets substantial traffic has a lot of changing, new content. As an example if you look at a forum that gets traffic it will have a good Alexa ranking because with so many people adding comments it has an ever changing content and the spiders like that so they visit often and give it a good rank. Learn something about Alexa.com it will be an important tool for you.

Back to Basics Part 2

Back to Basics-Part 2.

You will recall that we were talking about Business Basics. Perhaps the next most important ingredient would be desire or purpose. Some would call it your "why". Like in, why do you want a business? What purpose will it serve? Is it just about money or do you have a driving passion to accomplish this great task?

If you don't have a good, perhaps we should say a great reason for doing this thing the likelihood that it will be accomplished are minimal, at best. I would suggest, before reading any further, take time to consider...what is your real, true reason for building a business? Listening to the voice of wisdom from others who have already succeeded, it would be unwise to enter into a business venture whose only purpose was, "making money for me". While we do certainly enter into a business activity to earn money we also need to have a desire to help others, else we would not have anything of value to offer. This isn't being altruistic, it is being practical. We must offer something that others would value enough to trade their money for.

Let's take Google, as an example. I think it would be fair to say that the people at Google do certainly intend to make money with their business actions. Fact is, they are making money and actually quite a lot of it. But what do they offer? It looks like their whole purpose is to help us online when we are searching for information and they do it better than anyone else. They go out of their way to make our search successful. They make is easy and sometimes even fun to search for information on the Internet. So what is their business if it's not helping other people get what they want... and in the process they get what they want, which is money.

Maybe others have said it before but I first heard it from the well known speaker, Zig Ziglar, who said, "You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want". This is quoted so often that it sounds cliche, but there is absolute truth in it. Keep it in mind as you build your business. There will be a pay-off one day.

Once your reason or purpose is clear (this may not be easy but it is of utmost importance) the next step will be to narrow it down with focus. Later on we will discuss the part that finding a "niche" plays into your business but for now just think in terms of bringing a somewhat blurry idea into a sharper focus. I know from personal experience that if you lack focus and getting your plans written down in some form you will waste much valuable time thrashing around before you find the direction you actually want to go. So to the extent you are able to get clarification it would be wise to do it.

Next time we will discuss one of the most important parts of reaching page one in the search engines with your website or blog. It is a key part in what is called SEO or search engine optimization.

Back to Basics

Earning income with your own money machine may sound like a pipe dream or something unattainable, but in fact, many are doing it right now. One thing you can be sure of is that they began with the basics. If they don't start with the basics they will have to come back to them. Basics are the fundamental, foundational building blocks for any kind of business. It could be a brick and mortar business, an online business or just the business of life. For example we might look at the biblical example of Matthew 7:24-27...24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Here the idea is that in order to build a Christian life it must be based on solid principles that have been tested by time and experience (It helps if they are commands given to us by our Creator). So the same idea applies for us to build our business. What then are these principles that are so basic? You will remember that last time we discussed the importance of "attitude". That is one of the first building blocks. If we don't have that right nothing else matters much. Once we determine that we have a winning attitude that will see us through the rough times we should probably consider if we have "Sisu". This is one of those words my Finnish father introduced me to at an early age.

I'll let Wikipedia explain:Sisu is a Finnish term loosely translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. However, the word is widely considered to lack a proper translation into any language. Sisu has been described as being integral to understanding Finnish culture. The literal meaning is equivalent in English to "having guts", and the word derives from sisus, which means something inner or interior. However sisu is defined by a long-term element in it; it is not momentary courage, but the ability to sustain an action against the odds. Deciding on a course of action and then sticking to that decision against repeated failures is sisu. It is similar to equanimity, except the forbearance of sisu has a grimmer quality of stress management than the latter. The noun sisu is related to the adjective sisukas, one having the quality of sisu.

Our intent, our dream, our plan to have a money machine must be built on a firm foundation and have at it's core, in us, a fixed and dogged determination that will see it through to success or completion. Perhaps the next fundamental would be integrity. Without integrity we would be fooling ourselves that we were doing something of value when in fact it would be a lie. If we could not deal with others in a way we would want be treated whatever we create would one day come crumbling down. Just in our recent past we see where others have built financial empires only to have them be washed out to see with the ebbing tide as the CEO or other executives are marched off to jail. This happens because at the root character of the company there was a lack of integrity. If we are not true to ourselves how could we ever expect to be true to others?

I see that we are going to need more time to develop the subject of "basics", so we will continue in the next article.

Attitude: one of our most important attributes.

Generating an income with your own money machine will become a reality if you are willing to work for it. There is no business that just comes into being without sweat equity, labor and energy, or money investment, where you would buy out another's interest in a business. Actually, investing in the stock market would be like that, on a smaller scale. So let's talk about what it will take for someone to get started in building a business that could become a money machine.

Because building a business involves many parts I have decided to write about it alphabetically. In other words we will use the ABC's as a way to keep track of what we are saying. Today starts with A=Attitude. You no doubt are familiar with the importance of our attitude in our relationships with each other and the world. The wonderful thing about attitude is that it is entirely within our personal control. We decide and determine what our attitude will be in any given situation. If you happen to be a Christian you would be able to lean on the presence of the Holy Spirit to help with this. But even if you are of no kind of faith, even an atheist, you can still take control of what you think and feel, which controls your attitude.

Possibly, more than any other trait in the human condition, attitude affects most of everything we do or even want to do. Our success or failure in any endeavor will be determined, to a great extent, by our attitude. If we have a winning attitude we are more likely to win. If we have a losing, failure oriented attitude, we are more likely to fail. If you ever listen to motivational speakers I think you will find that the most often discussed subject will be "attitude".

I have noticed that we tend to get angry when things don't go our way or when something happens that demeans us. It is much easier to be disagreeable with someone we don't like that it is with someone we care about and with whom want be seen in the best light. This is an indicator of our own power over our attitude. Have you ever noticed that it's easier to try to overrule a person who is smaller or of less threat to us than it is with a person bigger or more powerful than us?

So if we are going to be building a business we need an attitude that is pleasant and amiable toward others. The apostle Paul says in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men". We want to have a personality that others find agreeable and enjoy being with. If you're not sure how you are doing in that regard, I suggest you buy and read and study the classic work, "How to Win Friends and Influence People", by Dale Carnegie. Of course, the Holy Bible is also a great resource in understanding people and learning how to get along with them.

Next time we will look at "B" Basic Fundamentals. Remember the well known quote from Vince Lombardi, coach of Green Bay Packers, at the beginning of a season said, to his team of skilled, seasoned, professional players, "Gentlemen,...this is a football". We all need to be reminded of the foundational and fundamental basics of our business from time to time.

What does it mean to have your own money machine?

What is a Money Machine?

Having your own Money Machine doesn't mean that you have an actual machine that prints out money. Nor does it mean that there is something like a money tree on which money grows. Money comes about, in our current economy, through the process of creating debt. That's right. All the money in your pocket came into existence because someone somewhere created a debt. In a previous blog you will find a link about the "story of money", in which you will have an excellent explanation of how this works.

Posessing our own money machine is where we learn to attract some of this created money into our pocket on a regular basis. There are some who believe that those who don't have money should have the government take money from those who have it and give it to those who don't have it. This is an upside down thinking process and actually quite short sighted. The only way that money can benefit the general population to have it be paid out to someone who has created a worthwhile product or service as an exchange. If it is just handed out to those who want it and are not willing to either work for it or create something of value to exchange for it we become a self defeating welfare state.

I know that if you don't have any money living in our economy can be difficult. While there are some who are in difficult situations through no fault of their own, most of us find ourselves in our present situation because of choices we made in the past. For example, if you dropped out of school because it was too hard or you just didn't want to finish because it looked like there was no value to you in it, be not surprised that others who did finish and maybe even went on to college are in a better place than yourself.

Weather we are dealing with making a living, or our present situation, or our lack of accomplishing our goals we always come back to us, to ourselves. There have been philosophers who have suggested that " we are where we find ourselves because that is exactly where we want to be". That is a bold statement but when you think about it there is merit in it. We do tend to become what we think about all day long. If we think about prosperity, success, happiness, our great purpose in life, we will tend toward those things. If, on the other hand, we think about what we lack, what we don't have and focus on what has happened to us we tend to bring about situations that continue in that same directions.

I know this doesn't sound much like building prosperity but what we think about ourselves and what we think about how we are with money it has everything to do with weather of not we will be able to create a money machine that can steadily produce income for us. Next we will look at "why" should even be considering the idea to build a machine that would allow us to generate income at will. Certainly, others are doing it, so why not you or me?

Lately I’ve been having trouble sleeping. I sit here in my living room in Karnei Shomron, Israel, on the 8th night of Chanukah, wondering what other miracles lay in store on January 3rd and in the months ahead. The name Ron Paul is constantly at my fingertips. I’ve typed it in so many times the past month it’s insane. I’m experiencing an excitement I’ve rarely ever felt, and I don’t even live in America anymore. During the last Republican debate I woke myself up at 3am Israel time to watch an 8pm EST live stream on YouTube, with no fatigue whatsoever. I’m on overdrive, and I can’t calm myself.

I’ve only recently figured out what this excitement actually is.

I first got interested in the whole freedom movement when I heard that Ron Paul wanted to end all foreign aid, including to my country, Israel. This seemed like a spectacular idea to me. I hate the idea of taking American tax payer money I don’t need. The only reason we take it, by the way, is not because we need it. It’s that we don’t want to feel alone, and Jews always feel a deep existential isolation and loneliness. “As I see them from the mountain tops, gaze on them from the heights, this is a people that dwells alone, not counted among the Nations,” says Balaam of the People of Israel in Numbers 23:9. We still feel that loneliness. So we take the money. It’s shameful, it’s theft, it’s destructive, it’s morally wrong, and it makes people hate us for tying them into a conflict they have no business trying to solve. I wanted it to end and didn’t trust any Israeli leader to give it up on his own, so I looked up more about Ron Paul.

What I found was fascinating. On the forums, I learned of people who, back in ’08, literally gave their lives short of death to this man. Some poured money into his campaign they could not afford to give, and some even lost their marriages because of their single-minded insane dedication. This shocked me. I couldn’t yet understand it, but after a few days of listening to him, it began to click.

What is it about Ron Paul that inspires such extremes? Such maddening support on the one hand, and such fear and loathing on the other? I can give the answer in one word: Soul.

The essential soul of a human being is by definition free. The idea that men are free as determined by God is a concept that is foreign to most men. This is because most men want to control others, to take away their freedom. This is usually referred to as the drive for power. The drive for power is antithetical to freedom because power means the ability to control others. There is only one legitimate thing that power can and should be used for, whether it be military, legislative, or executive power. That is, to legalize freedom.

Ron Paul doesn’t want to be President to “give” me freedom. He doesn’t own my freedom and he didn’t give it to me. The only reason Ron Paul wants to be President is to stop punishing people for using their freedom that is rightfully theirs. He wants no power. This is clear to anyone who listens to him speak.

There are two kinds of human beings. Those who want power, and those who want freedom. You can tell which one’s which very easily. Those who want freedom are straight-edged. They are consistent, principled, and you can feel their human soul when they speak to you. There’s a continuum out there of human souls somewhere in spiritual cyberspace, and when you come into contact with one of these souls, you know immediately, because souls are by definition free. You sense sincerity, realness, consistency, a free human being. If you’re a man who seeks freedom and you come into contact with a real human soul, you become instantly addicted and you swallow up anything you can get your hands on. You want to unite immediately, no matter what you disagree on. There are people in the freedom movement that don’t exactly like Israel, especially me being a “settler” and I don’t care. If they want freedom, I sense it and my human drive for individualism suddenly turns into an intense desire to unite into a collective – but a collective of free individuals. It’s a beautiful dialectic, and it doesn’t matter what we agree or disagree on, as long as we agree on freedom.

You get hooked on Ron Paul and you desperately seek more and more, any video you can find from the past, any speeches you missed, anything he said that you haven’t heard yet, even though you’ve heard it a thousand times already in different words. You can’t help yourself. The voracious hunger to be able to use your God-given freedom takes you over entirely. It’s like you suddenly realize you’re human and the Divine Image with which God created you comes alive and catches fire.

But something else happens to you. Once you get hooked on Ron Paul, you can no longer bear to listen to a man who wants power, and you become instantly disgusted when they start saying words. Before, they were just boring. Now they’re revolting. Listening to Romney or Gingrich or Bush or Obama makes you sick and you don’t know how Ron Paul gets through those debates without getting nauseous. You see a political veneer in these politicians that’s so transparent it’s like a ghost flapping its ethereal tongue at you. You can’t bear it.

What’s so maddening about hearing Romney or Gingrich talk is that there’s someone standing there saying things, but there’s no soul in it. These are not free men. These are power men. Not that Romney or Gingrich don’t have souls. They do. They are men just like you and I. But they have practically forfeited their souls to try and attain power, to control others with spin and talking points and contradictory statements like “I want to cut the budget and expand the military!” and they’ll say it with a polished tone and a straight face, just like a soulless recording. Their humanity is so buried under the mountain of lies they have told themselves, that neither they themselves nor you can even sense their souls in the human continuum. The scene of a human body speaking but no soul communicating can drive a free man mad.

The reason that Ron Paul never goes down in the polls is that he’s not “convincing” people in the everyday sense that he’s right on whatever issue. He’s activating human souls, lighting spiritual fires one by one speaking about freedom. Once a soul gets activated, and the man realizes that he IS free no matter what people do to him or tell him, there is no turning back. The other candidates are trying to turn heads with snappy one-liners that sound cool. Slaves follow these one-liners like mobs, and follow each other from candidate to candidate. Slowly but surely, Ron Paul activates a few of the individual souls in the mob as they bob from snappy comeback to snappy comeback and he goes up in the polls.

Yet, we cannot expect every man woman and child to understand or get excited about the message of liberty. In fact, most just can’t handle it. Being truly free is as terrifying as it is electrifying. The Bible tells us this very clearly in the story of the Exodus from Egypt. When Moses finally accepts the role of deliverer from God, he was assigned to say the following to my great-grandparents the Israelites:

“Therefore say to the Israelites: I am God. I will free you from the labors of the Egyptians and deliver you from their bondage. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with amazing signs. And I will take you to be My people and I will be your God, and you will know that I am the Lord who freed you from the labors of the Egyptians.” (Ex. 6:6-7)

And what was my grandparents’ response?

“And Moses told this to the people, but they didn’t listen due to lack of spirit and cruel bondage.” (6:9)

Not everyone can handle the message of freedom. It’s too frightening for some people, and some are just too enslaved. Those are the people that despise Ron Paul, the same types who rebelled against Moses in the desert and attempted to go back to Egypt. Freedom is too much for them and they can’t handle the Divine gift. They want and need someone to control them. Their souls have been too battered by slavery, taxation, and wars.

But nonetheless, God forced my stiff-necked great grandparents to leave Egypt, and as a result I’m here today, preaching freedom once again, fighting not only for America’s freedom, but for my own from America’s influence in my own region.

Vote Ron Paul and let my people go once again! Stop meddling here and stop trying to buy influence by giving me money. Stop trying to be the all powerful Peace Maker and let us work out the problems here on our own! If we think Iran is a threat, we can handle it and we’ll take the consequences. It’s not America’s problem and you can’t afford another war.

Now I understand why people will give everything to this man. Whenever he’s asked the question, “Would you legalize heroin?” Ron Paul answers, “I want to legalize freedom!” Little do these people understand that freedom is a thousand times more addictive than heroin.

What is a Money Machine

Having your own money machine is not a far fetched idea. Many people are doing it every day. Some are using the Internet others do it with a brick and mortar business. All are doing it as a result of the entrepreneurial desire to be their own boss and be independent of "working for the man". What we want to do in this series of articles is to help you understand why you might want to participate in this enterprise and furthermore why you should and how you can.

Since you are able to read you certainly are aware that the world is experiencing a financial crisis. It may not be apparent to everyone yet, it soon will be. How well you are prepared to deal with it will have a profound effect upon you and your family. We hope to spread the word of awareness so that none would be deceived by the major media and government assurances that all is well. Truth is the ship is sinking and the band is playing to distract us from knowing about it lest we panic and do something rash like turn on our leaders and demand an explanation.

There is much information available to all, on the Internet. In fact here is a discussion that will help you get understanding from a Christian perspective. I think you will find value in it even if you are not a Christian since what is going to happen will affect everyone no matter what your beliefs or faith.

Of course there is much more we will be sharing with you. For one thing I encourage anyone who will listen to look into the possibility of buying precious metals like gold or silver. When the dollar loses value these comodities increase in value. This has happened many times over the years so there is no speculation of the outcome. You will find links to learn about gold and silver in different places on this site.

Mike Maloney of GoldSilver.com suggest that, "if you can't hold it in your hand you don't own it". He was speaking about weather to buy actual gold or silver or paper documents (ETF's) that say they are equal to the real thing. I think his wisdom will be proven when the crash comes. While many knowledgable investors will be able to earn income from the Stock Market no matter weather it's going up or down, most of us less skilled investors could easily lose everything we invest and more in short order. Investing in gold or silver does have some risks to be sure but they will always be money and in the current financial market place have proven to out perform most everything else. Do you have your own money machine?

Do you have your own money machine? When we hear the term "money machine" we think of something that prints money, like the Federal Reserve, or a business that functions well enough it can consistently generate a significant cash flow. One creates debt the other creates wealth. The one I'm talking about creates wealth.

The way to make money, I know some one will say you can 't "make money", you can only earn it, is to make a trade. You have something of a certain value and you trade it for either dollars or something else of value. Hopefully, what you trade is more valuable to your buyer than it is to you and what you buy is of more value to you than it is to the seller. Did you understand that? If not reread it, I had to, but it does finally make sense.

So let's say you want to develop a money machine, just how are you going to go about it? There are a number of options. First it would be a good idea to learn something about money and how it even comes into being. Do you know where money comes from? Here is an entertaining and educational peek at the Story of Money. Be sure to watch it before continuing on.

Now that you know where it comes from we need to understand how we can attract it to us. Normally, we might think that the best way to make or earn money would be to have a job. If that job was a high paying job, so much the better. Like I said before we would have to make a trade and in the case of a job we trade our time for our employers money. We work so many hours and the employer would pay us a previously agreed upon wage. So much for earning money, we have already solved the question. However, this way of creating income does have some serious limitations. Let's take a look at some of them.

First of all, while we may work for an agreed upon wage we very often do not have much say in just how much that wage will be. We most likely tend to agree on the wage that the employer suggests we might be worth. If we are highly skilled in a particularly in demand skill we may be in a better bargaining position but that would require a considerable investment on our part for schooling or training.

Another limitation is that we will normally work the hours our employer thinks would best fit into his business schedule, leaving us little control over that part of the trade. Employers often become so bold as to telling the employee when they can take a vacation from the work, if you can imagine that!

So while working for someone else certainly can fill the need to accumulate some money you can see that it does have some serious drawbacks. If we have some imagination and consider these limitations undesirable what are our options?

Let's take a look. If we were to take a job, for a time, and during that time saved a portion of our earnings we might be able to open our own business so that one day we could be the employer and be the one to set the hours and the wages paid. What a novel idea. It's not new and actually has been around for a long time. While it's getting more difficult to get started with a new business these days, due to taxes and regulations, it is still possible and some one is opening a new business every day, probably several new businesses.

Why do we write?

David Tampien-why do we write to our blogs? Do we expect to earn income from the writing we do, like a reporter or novelist? Do we hope to affect a reader's attitude toward us or our ideas? Do we think that perhaps we have something of value to offer? Do we just want to express ourselves hoping that someone will read what we have written? What is the real reason we take time and put forth the energy to sit at our computer and compose words into a readable form that might enlighten others?

These are some questions I have been asking myself today. I've been a little under the weather lately so my energy level is below normal. Times like this are often times of introspection and reflection and that's what I've been doing. I'm sure there as many answers to the questions as there are people who might ask them so what I have to share will just be my own personal thoughts.

Many years ago I wanted to be a writer. I read all the great writers of the day and also those of antiquity too. I read books about writers and about the writing life. I even subscribed to magazines like Writer's Digest and The Writer. I joined the Famous Writers School and made a feeble attempt at completing the course. Writing consistently is hard work. I recall a comment by the writer, Pearl Buck, who said that her hired man ( I think she lived on a farm) wished he could make his living by just sitting in the house all day, writing. She said, " he had no idea of what he was saying, because the act of writing required so much from the writer". (paraphrased)

A few months ago several of us were challenged to add content to a communal blog with the idea of learning SEO (search engine optimization). There is an art to SEO and we learned some of the techniques and white hat ways of making a site more attractive to the Google search engines. This was an excellent exercise in the act of writing keyword specific content to be displayed on the Internet. In fact the keyword we were writing for was..."Creative Writing for the Internet". We soon dominated page one for that keyword because we focused our writing to the keyword and our coach, Butch Hamilton, added his touch with other SEO stuff that he knows.

I didn't mean to get off the subject, but actually that was the subject. Doing that project, in a way, explained why we write. The purpose is to inform and educate to be sure, but it is also to allow others to become acquainted with us, the writers. In the process of writer writing and reader reading we develop some kind of a relationship. It may be casual at first but if the activity goes on over a period of time a reader will either come to know, like and trust us, or be turned away from us if we are not delivering honest and worthwhile content. Hopefully, our ideas and sharing will encourage them to visit our site and perhaps discover that we might be a likely person to partner with in some kind of business endeavor.

If I had a brick and mortar business in your town and I wanted you to visit my store I would probably place an ad in the local newspaper, with the idea that whatever I advertised would be attractive to you and you might stop by and visit my store. Weather you made a purchase would depend of how much you wanted what I had to offer and weather or not my prices were in line with what you expected to pay. Beyond that your decision to return again very likely would have something to do with the buying experience you had. Did I give you good service, was I courteous to you and did I treat you fairly? If I do my job well we might develop a long term business relationship.

That's is also what we hope to do with our writing. We want you to find value that is worth more than the time it takes to read what we have written. We want to stir up you imagination so that you could see yourself benefiting from out ideas and suggestions. We want you to feel we have written up to your level of intelligence and intellect. We want you to have a pleasant experience for the time you have spent with us. We hope you will feel good enough about your experience that you will want to return and maybe become friends with us. And maybe, just maybe we will have an opportunity to develop a long term business relationship with you. That's why we write.

Saturday Training with Butch Hamilton

We had a great training today with Butch Hamilton. He spent an hour with us in reviewing and commenting on three websites. These sites were submitted to him for evaluataion and comment for improvement. The participants education was improved by what we learned.

After making initial comments Butch brought up the source code on each site and made suggestions about what was already good and what could use improvement. As we were going through the training I was reminded of the great value we received in our initial training of building a Word Press blog at Butch Hamilton Videos. Actually, in going back to have another look at that training I see that it has changed somewhat from the original. The first one used the Fantastico tool to set up the WordPress blog and this one has revised that training to show how to set up a WordPress blog manually. This is a better way in that now we will not have to depend on another tool in the event that it no longer functions as intended.

To continue on with today's training we next looked at Alexa and how it would evaluate the sites we were reviewing. This part reminded us how important Alexa.com is in the SEO process. The Alexa details give a good picture of how the site is ranked based on the numbe of visitors as well as what other sites are linking to it. We were able to see exactly what sites were linked and Butch exlplained the importance of using Vertekk and it's sites as back links also. It is remarkable just how valuable using the Gold Veretekk system is in building our own sphere of influence on the Internet.

After the training I was thinking of the built in value that is being added to the Veretekk system every time a new recorded training is added into our Veretekk University. This is a dynamic system that continues to grow in value even though the price stays the same. It's kind of opposite of the way our general economy is operating.

Abundant Living Company

Abundant Life Company is my company. We provide a variety of services that will compliment an abundant life. They will include but not be limited to: nutritional products like aloe vera and bee products. In addition there will be information about the value of investing in precious metals in light of the present state of the US Dollar. We are a Christian company so will also share information that would be pertinent for other Christians or those seeking to become Christians.

An idea that has been maturing in my mind for many years is how to reconcile two things: my faith and my business. So our site is going to be an attempt to do that. I am aware that any expression of faith can turn away a non-believer but I'm going to take that chance. America used to be a Christian country, it certainly was founded on Christian principles. I regret that we have seriously fallen away in the last few decades and seem to continue on that path presently. But there are still many who adhere to the Bible without any apologies to whomever that might offend. We are guided by these words from Matthew 10:33 But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven... (that is a price too high to pay).

We will take advantage of the fact that others have prepared a way by going on ahead and we will not try to re-invent the wheel but rather capitalize on proven principles. We will provide our own content and also give you an opportunity to add your ideas in a forum so that we can also benefit from your expertise or experience.

I have had some heart issues and so will gladly share my experience with you. I tend toward the natural path and eschew, as much as possible, any medical procedure like pills, and knives and chemo etc. My doctor is a naturopath and generally can provide all the advice and medications I may need. As an example I take cod liver oil and garlic instead of statin drugs, so have not side affects that drugs always have. I drink aloe vera juice and take a little apple cider vinegar each day. We also eat organic as much as possible. So I'm healthy and feel good with enough energy to get through the day.

Psalm 90:10 says "The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength;...". I've passed the seventy mark and am working on the eighty, but would only want to continue if I have good health, so I take care and do the best I can for my physical body. That's a start. Beyond that, if we are wise we will seek to know more about our Creator and His purpose for us. I do not preach, there are others much more qualified than I to do that, but if you, or anyone, asks me I'll certainly tell my story and why I begin each day in conversation with my Lord and in submission to His will.

Marketing with classified ads is a common way to market or sell something. Most of us have done it many times over the years. If we know that we can sell a car or a bed with a classified ad why wouldn't we consider using it in our daily marketing effort, whatever that may be? So how do we place an ad?

One way to advertise is with paid ads on Google or some other search engine. These are called pay per click ads and are paid for whenever someone clicks on the ad. You will see these ads on top or along side any search page. While this can be an effective way to promote your business it can also become expensive, especially in the hands of a novice. If you choose to use this method it's a good idea to get some training first so as to make the use of your advertizing budget most effective.

There is another way and that is with free ads run on FFA sites and Bulletin Boards. The fact that the ads are free is attractive but usually what is free online has a limited effect. That makes it useful for a limited budget but not too practical except for use in a small part of your advertising. However, it has another function that is even more valuable.

Since you will be including your website or blog in your ad, usually as a hyperlink, you will be creating back links to your site. In the organic scheme of promoting your site this becomes a very real marketing tool. The other part is that you can place as many of these ads as you like and there never is any cost, except your time, and you can place the ads during the time when your would normally be unproductive.

The ads you place on Free For All sites and Bulletin Boards will most likely not be read by humans, but they will be read by the search engine spiders. Since they link back to your site it will improve your site ranking. So use this tool as much as you like. Once you sign up to use it you will receive instructions on how to get the most use from it. So go ahead and give it a try. You can have access to an the oldest and therefore most valuable classified ad site on the internet. This is the one I use.

My online business is about your business. That's right, my business is to provide tools and training for anyone who is serious about earning a living online. Of course if you only want to add a little income to your present family budget that's fine too. But our real focus is on those who what to earn as much as they can with out any limits.

The reason our goal is so lofty is because we have the tools and training to do it. We have everything it takes to get you and your business to the top, as long as you are willing to work and do whatever it takes to reach your goals.

Hopefully, you already have a dream, because that is the starting point. Without a dream you will fold and buckle when the going gets tough. In any worthwhile endeavor there are always challenges, there are unseen events that will interrupt the flow of your work and lead you off course. Another thing you need, I guess you could do without it but it would more difficult, and that is support. First you need the support of your loved ones. You can still accomplish without their support but it is so much more fulfilling when your are all in agreement and encouraging one another in your pursuits, whatever they are. But that's also where we come in. We are a strong support group of entrepreneurs who like to participate and rejoice in the success of others in our group.

One thing you can count on is that we will start at the beginning. We understand the importance of learning the basics. Sometimes even the old pros need to get back to the basics because it is easy to let new ideas interfere with your purpose or your stated objective. This is especially true on the Internet. Just today I have seen two different offers that look attractive and are from people I know and trust but to do any more that take a peek could cause me to lose focus and stray away from where I want to go.

Again I say that my online business is about your business. I want to succeed and the only way I can do that is by helping enough other people do the same. It just happens that my business is about tools and training and that's what most marketers need. What can you do without motivation?

What can you do without motivation? I dare say, "Not much". have you ever seen horses standing lazily in the corner of a corral or pasture. Nothing to do and no where to go. Just standing, swishing their tail at at a pesky horse fly, no action or movement, just nothing. But wait until someone comes along with food or a bringing the tack out to go riding and something happens. The horse is motivated into action. People are much the same way.

I have often observed a person walking with out purpose and they just kind of shuffle along. At other times there will be someone walking, with purpose, as if on a mission and they are going someplace. Their step is lively and the head is up. You almost wonder, 'where are they going in such a hurry'. Hopefully, that's you, the one who is moving forward as toward a predetermined goal.

The other day I was dropping off some papers at a friend's house. I saw three teenage boys standing in the next yard, talking or just hanging out. There were leaves all around them and I said to them, "Instead of just standing there you should get a rake and go around the neighborhood and make some money raking leaves". One boy, perhaps the leader of the group, said:" I don't do that kind of work, I want to do something like what you are doing...what do you do?" I said, "I work at the local newspaper." and he said, "Bring me an application and I'll fill it out."

I smiled and replied."You, go get the application yourself." He said he would but I don't know. I see so much of it in my business of trying to find people who are willing to do a paper route. On the other hand there are some who are excited about doing it. It seems as though this generation of young people, and that includes some older ones, expect to have it handed to them. I fear that having both moms and dads having to work to support their family, and single parents trying their best to make it, is leaving children with too much time with their peers and not enough time, with discipline, with their parents and family.

There was a time when I was a single parent and I remember the feelings I had toward my children when they were with me. I tended to give in to their wishes and didn't discipline as I should have because of the guilt I felt that they didn't have a mom and dad every day as a part of their normal life. I can only imagine that working parents who are not there when the kids come home from school might have similar feelings. So what can we do about it?

Build a work at home business!! That is the solution. If you have a business that you do from or at home you control your hours and income. If you say I don't know how to do business then I have something special for you. You can learn and we will teach you and give you all the tools you will need to succeed. There is no longer any need for someone to stay at a job their either hate going to or would just prefer to stay at home. It will take getting an education,... not the kind where you have to go to a school but one you can learn on your own time from your online computer.

Tuition is about the cost of a cup of coffee a day and you don't have to take out a student loan to attend. Do you know anyone who has done that, followed by years of paying it back, with interest? At our school if you bring a few friends along we will even cut the tuition for you. You pick the business model you like and choose a niche or field that you have an interest in or better yet, a passion for, and we can get started.

Creative writing for the Internet-a money machine? How can that be? When you think about it how do you learn most of what you know? I would suggest that much of your learning occurs as a result of what you have read. So if you are going to build a business online, a money machine, you need some content that you can regularly add to your website or blog.

If you are able to create a business online that generates a steady stream of income, a residual income, then you have created a "money machine". There may be several ways to do this but considering the costs it would seem reasonable to use your own creative imagination in writing to develop the content you need to move your site or blog to the top of Google or other search engines.

There is another money machine and it's found as a part of the Veretekk-the SEO company's arsenal of marketing traffic portals. There are some different parts to it like an RSS reader for the Blogfather blogging system. You can post videos, that might pertain to your business, in the side panel. You will also find linking tools that connect the Money Machine to the Social Media like Facebook and Twitter and more.

What Are You Reading?

What are you reading?

I was just thinking about some of the books I've read that have influenced and affected me the most. What ones have helped to mold my character, whatever it is. We have no way of knowing how reading a book will affect us until after we have read it and some time has past, with the exception of testimonials from others who have previously read them. So I'm going to note some books that have touched my life and I hope you will add your collection.

1. The Magic of Believing by Claude Bristol, opened my eyes to the power of writing down a goal and thinking of it every day. After reading the book I wrote down 5 goals and within a short period of time 4 of them were accomplished in most unusual ways. The 5th took a little longer...it was to have a cattle ranch. Within ten years I had that too, again in a most unexpected way. So it certainly proved the writers point of view.

2. Walden by Henry David Thoreau, started me on a path of living simply, not poorly but simply. I read the book about 8 times. One time through I realized that there were many words the author used (he was a Latin and Greek scholar) of which I didn't know the meaning. So as I was reading I wrote down and looked up the meaning of over 500 words, that was the beginning of my love affair with vocabulary. Looking back over the years, for there have been many since first reading Walden , I see that it still affects the way I think and the way I do things.

3. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. This is a powerful book and I would recommend it to anyone who is living among other people. I recently reread it and found that many of the principles espoused by the author have been incorporated into my life. That was encouraging and reminded me that we truly can be changed or directed by what we read and what we think about.

4. The Bible. I was late in life to commit my life to Christ. Since then the Bible has become the most important book, actually a library of books, and I spend time with it every day. It's not just a book of inspiration and wisdom but also allows the reader to participate in the great conversation between God and man. I won't get preachy here just enough to say if I had only one book to read the rest of my life it would be the Word of God, the Holy Bible.

This is just the tip of the pile of hundreds of books I've read over the last 50 years. I know that many others have also contributed value, these are just the most significant. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote,""We become what we think about all day long," and that is guided by what we allow or permit into our mind. I am thankful for those who have gone before and discovered and perhaps more important written down information to pass along to another generation.

Who uses Blastomatic is a relevant question to ask because it will show how it can best be used. Normally it is used by a marketer who wants their website url along with a brief ad placed on FFA sites and Bulletin Boards across the Internet. I think it is also used by marketers who are having limited success in building their online business.

One way to gain more advantage in the use of Blastomatic would be to "reverse market". I mean this in the soft sense. I know that some people click on Pay per Click ads to get a phone number or e-mail address and then reverse market them. I think that is poor business. What I'm talking about is to use information that an FFA site owner or Bulletin Board owner sends back to the Blastomatic user. Of that information there has been no permission given to e-mail them but if there is a phone number you could call them.

The idea of the call would not be to pitch a deal but rather to see if there is some way you could help them grow their business. If you are just a Blastomatic user I'm not sure what you would have to offer, but if you were a Blastomatic owner, in other words a member of Veretekk, there is much you could offer. I would suggest this video to get a clear understanding of what Veretekk offers.

Integrity, often missing, sometimes found.

As a long time user of the Internet I often fell into the trap of "shiny buttons' and "easy marketing techniques", lured by the catchy and cleverly worded sales letters. Ultimately, I most often found integrity lacking and character something out of the distant past.

However, recently I've discovered a place where honest conversation and ideas expressed with integrity can be found. I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't been challenged to get down in the trenches and really learn, not only the fundamentals of marketing but also the "doing of it". Learnin' ain't much without the doin'. In the process I became aware of a gathering place for real, everyday, honest to goodness marketers who are applying their trade and then sharing what they have learned with others.

If you go to this place looking for a fish you may be turned away, but if you go looking to learn how to fish, the door is wide open and the welcome is genuine. If you are truly serious about your intent to build an enduring income online using business principles of integrity, honesty and character you will find a ready home. If you are more concerned about providing a worthwhile service or product that will be a benefit to your prospect or client you will associate with like minded marketers. If you are just driving by and hope to tag along to ride on another's successful coat tails, your welcome may quickly wear thin.

Where is this secret gathering place? Well, it's only a secret to the uninitiated. Once you know how to find it your online experience may never be the same. Well then, what is it? It is forums. Forums like Warriors Forum, Work at home moms (WAHM), Small Business Ideas Forum and of course IBO Social.

Now don't get me wrong, even here you will run into those are just want to make a fast buck and move on, but I tell you, in my experience I haven't run into the kind of integrity, honesty and character like I have found in forums like these.

So what does this mean to you? Only this, if you will spend some time each day interacting, commenting and participating with others in this arena you will be a better marketer and very likely a better person. Your perspective of the market place will be affected and you will begin to see yourself as a beacon of light for others to follow. You will need to spend some time reading what others have shared, and you will likewise need to pay it forward and offer your special insights and experience.

Marketing an online business is much like marketing an offline business. Basic business principles still apply. Both require a measure of branding and promotion. Let's talk first about branding.

Branding, especially online may best be done by using personal branding, in other words making your own name the point of the brand. That way you are personally identified and since you will never meet your client or prospect in person you will want them to know, like and trust you as much as possible. Marketing offline has much the same requirement but it's more likely that you can know your customer face to face so then perhaps the name of your business would be better the subject of your branding.

Another requirement is the need for tools. Offline you may use newspapers, radio and other means to advertise or promote your business. Online you have the Internet and there are many tools you can use there. For example, you have a website and perhaps a blog, you can use auto-responders to keep you mailing list provided with the latest information. If you need to talk with your customers or clients you can use e-mail, instant messaging, phone or an online conference room.

In order to get your information in front of your prospect you will want to use Search Engine Optimizations (SEO) strategies to move your site or blog to page one of Google, Yahoo or any of the other search engines. There are still other options like pay per click advertising where you have your add placed on page one of the search engine and and pay a fee each time your ad is clicked by someone searching for your kind of product or service.

In the brief lifetime of the Internet, the commercial Internet, there have been thousands of ideas and options developed to help you market your business online. Some of them work, many don't. We have found that attracting your customers by providing valuable and worthwhile information to be one of the most practical ways to build and develop a solid customer base. Blasting ads out to people who are not really interested in your product or service only tends to alienate a business from it's potential prospects. But by providing them with information they can use to help make a buying decision something organic happens and they willing become a part of your sphere of influence. Expanding your sphere of influence like that gradually builds a reputation for your brand, whether it's your name or the name of your company.

Brand loyalty is something rare in todays market place. However, if you are personally associated with the brand and you have been providing information that is not only informative but comes from the heart the possibility of creating a loyal customer in much improved.

Use aloe vera for acne relief and as an aid to healing. As I was doing research for this article I came across a plethora of testimonials from acne sufferers who have found a benefit using aloe vera. Actually, there are too many to post here so I would just refer you to Google, "aloe vera and acne". There is a wealth of information about using aloe vera on the Internet and it's hard to decide what else could be written.

But I have some experience with it and will share my own experience. I'm not sure just what causes acne. I know there are explanations and scientific data but if the doctors know so much about it why don't they just share the cure with you and move forward. Because there doesn't seem to be a solution many remedies are tried. You will even find snake oil kinds of remedies.

I know that there are some treatments that are expensive and maybe work, but like with other medical solutions, there are no guarantees. I'm not knocking doctors, they do the best they can. But I also know that there are many natural remedies and solutions that are seldom considered along with medicine.

Aloe Vera is one of these. I have used aloe vera gel on skin blemishes and found that if I apply it every day there usually is a clearing up of any inflammation or eruption.

I won't say that using aloe vera will cure acne, in fact in the information that I found in my research there seems to be a clearing up of skin and an aid to healing but not necessarily a complete healing. That would lead me to believe that perhaps the cause may be more in line with nutrition and diet. But if using aloe vera can give a person relief why not use it?

Obviously, I'm not a doctor. If I were I would have told you. So that means you can only take what I say as anecdotal information. However, I would suggest to you that we all are more intelligent regarding our health than the "experts" would give us credit for. We usually know if something we eat is good for us. We know if we eat too much of the wrong food there will be perhaps unpleasant consequences.

So maybe we should do a little research on our own and see what others have learned about living a healthy lifestyle. I have heard too many doctors say, in effect,"We'll try this and see what happens. If it doesn't work we will try something else". Of course they don't come out and say it like that but that is the outcome of much medicine.

A while back I ended up in the hospital with chest pains. Due to some misbehaving in my heart I had a couple of stents put in, just to keep things moving along better. In talking with the doctors I told them, " I wasn't a great believer in medicine and the medical business, but of course I think you are fine doctors and I'm glad to be under your care". I was well taken care of and pampered. They let me keep my bottle of aloe vera gel in my room and even added it and several vitamins Iwas taking to the recommended regimen for the following months. That was a bit of a surprise, but I think they did it because they could see the positive affects they could see in my having taken them.

Use Aloe Vera daily

Use aloe vera daily for part of the nutritional needs of your active body. Since aloe vera has so many nutrients it is an excellent addition to a well balanced diet. Of course you need you friuts and vegetables along with other parts of the daily food spectrum, but it just makes sense to help your body stay healthy. Using aloe vera daily is an easy way to make sure that you are giving your body the best possible nutrition.

You have probably heard of the many special juices that are now available on the market. Things like noni juice, goji juice, mangosteen jouce and many others. I'm sure they are all beneficial and good for your health. Generally, they are also expensive. Now don't get me wrong, aloe vera is not priced like bottled water (which is way overpriced, usually even more than an equivalent amount of gasoline) but it is normally costs much less than other speicalty juices.

Aloe vera has also been a known quantity for many generations. In the regions where it is grown it has many uses and is common knowledge to use expecially for burns. I've recently learned, from a Mexican friend, that her mother made a cut in the bottom part a an aloe vera plant in their yard and gave the children the gel or juice for a daily tonic.

The problem with aloe vera for so many years was that it worked great when used directly from the plant but quickly lost it's potency as time elapsed. So to transport the juice or gel diminished it's effectivness so much as to render it useless. A few decades ago a Texas pharmacist discovered a way to stabalize it so that it could be transported. Since that time it has been available for use anywhere in the world.

Just to give you an idea of a partial list of what's in aloe vera these are just the vitamins: A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C, E, Choline and Folic Acid plus Amino Acids, Anthraquinones, Enzymes, Hormones, Lignin, Salicylic Acid, Saponins, Sterols, Minerals and Sugars.

I know it gets a little overwhelming to see all of it and this is only a brief overview. Actually, there's more. The reason I'm mentioning these is to give you an idea of the complexity and abundance of good stuff that the Creator put into this plant when He made it.

There are many varieties of aloe in the world. The most common one used for human consumption and the one I've been talking about is barbadensis miller aloe vera. I know that it is often stated, in the promotion of using aloe vera that it's even mentioned in the bible. Well, yes it is used in burial and also in the Song of Songs as a perfume, but that is not exactly correct. The aloe mentioned in the bible regarding the burial of Christ is lignin aloe, which is used in perfumes and embalming.

We want to stay clear of making too many claims and expecially making exagerated claims. The aloe vera we use today and that has been used for thousands of years has a solid record of it's own as a healing plant and a burn plant even a miracle plant.

I'm writing this message not so much to sell you on the idea of using aloe vera daily but just to get you acquainted with the idea so that if the time comes that you are wanting to provide your body with healthier content maybe you will consider adding aloe vera to the mix.

What's So Great About Forums

What's so great about Forums? I've recently become acquainted with writing and commenting at some of the majoy online forums like, Work at Home Moms (WAHM) and Warrior Forum. In the process of writing and commenting it occurred to me that the forums just might be a great place for a person new to online marketing to get started.

There are many good ideas presented and some stimulating discussions going on that anyone can participate in. It is possible to ask a question and get replies from people who are actually making money and being successful in their work at home businesses.

I've known about forums for a long time but just never really joined in to the discussions. I guess I thought it would just be a waste of time that I could better use elsewhere. I was wrong. In addition to learning about marketing it expands the sphere of influence of the participants. After all isn't that one of our objectives when we start out business...to let other people become acquainted with us, who we are and what we do?

So I make this suggestion...if you are not familiar with forums or are familiar but have not availed yourself of the benefit of using them-start today. You may not see immediate results but it will become an important part of your growing online presence. Besides that you may find, as I have, that it almost becomes addictive and makes you want to see what else you can ask about or reply to. I wish you great success as you move forward in your business.

Motivation-Self or Otherwise

Where does motivation really come from? How do we get it? Can we just turn it on and off? Is it something we do, or feel, or think? These and many other questions come up with we begin to talk about motivation. Perhaps we should first define what motivation is, then maybe we can get a better grasp of it.

Here's what I found in the Webster's online dictionary: mo·ti·va·tion
a : the act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something : the act or process of motivating someone.
I.e. Some students need motivation to help them through school.
b : the condition of being eager to act or work : the condition of being motivated
i.e. employees who lack motivation
2 : a force or influence that causes someone to do something
i.e. His behavior seemed to be without motivation. or-
There seemed to be no motivation [=reason, motive] for his behavior. or
Many people have questioned her motivations in choosing to run for office at this time.

The one I like the best and fits in to what I want share is # 2. A force or influence that causes someone to do something. In other words it is something that causes us to ACT. It causes us to WANT to do something because we can see the value of that action as being with purpose or worthwhile. As an example I turned to Hebrews 12:2... Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. The Joy that was set before Him was the motivation for going to the cross. Undoubtable, that was not the reason for going to the cross but it is what helped make it possible to endure. Weather you are Christian or not you can see the point, there was something in view or envisioned out somewhere in the future that created the motivation.

If you have ever seen the sculpture of four presidents at Mount Rushmore, in South Dakota you marvel and wonder who could do it and how could it be done. Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor had the idea, a picture or maybe even a vision of it and no doubt saw the completed work before ever starting the project. Think of this, it was started in 1927 and completed on 1939. That's 12 years of every day going up to the granite rock and blasting, and hammering and all the while keeping the fininshed picture of it in his mind. Where then was the motivation? Do you think he read Think and Grow Rich or Power of Positive Thinking? I think not. I believe it was seeing the thing finished that made him and his crew get up every morning and go back to the mountain.

In thinking back to slavery or even the halocast where people were motivated by fear of beating or deprivation the same principle applies...motivation comes from either a fear of loss or hope of gain. It is because of this basic idea that I wonder if there is any real long term value in motivational quotes and books.

I've read many motivational books and quotes and found that while they were interesting and enjoyable to consume the affect was temporary and didn't last. I may be an exception but I think many others have had the same experience. So let's take a look at what does, in the end, motivate us to action, expecially action towards what we want to accomplish in the way of building a business or marketing online.

If you have been in direct marketing or sales for any period of time and been exposed to any quality training you have heard about the importance of having a big "why". Why are you doing the business? Is your reason big enough to get you through the tough times? If you don't have a big enough why you will fail when it gets hard or you get rejected too many times. You have heard all that before, haven't you? While there is much training that has minimal value that one is true and many there are who can attest to it. So what is a "why"? It is "the joy set before Him", it is the vision of the finished sculpture...it is the thing that does the actual "motivating" toward accomplishing a set out goal or objective.

So if you are going to get into marketing just to make lots of money or to get rich, sorry to say, failure awaits. Do you think the pioneers who walked for months walked across the plains were just going for a walk? Or do you think they only started out because their dream of having their own place or making a new beginning became so intense that the only way to satisfy the urge was to sell everything, say good bye to friends and family (who most of them would never see again) and set out.

If we begin our marketing adventure with any less of an interest or desire to succeed it would be better if we had just stayed home and written letters to those who went on ahead.

I remember living in Kansas and being in one of the many small towns that have a water tower, a grain elevator, a railroad line running through. In one town I learned that it was founded by a woman who told her husband, who was headed for Oregon, "I"m not going any farther. I'm staying right here." So some of the settling of the midwest came from those who just didn't want to go on (there was also rich soil and lots of grass). Maybe you are one of those who just doesn't have a big enough "why" to continue on doing what you know has to be done to make it. You have a couple of choices; you can quit and go back to doing what you were doing before you started or you can look for and find a bigger "why".

It's up to you. I can tell you this, if you quit you may regret it later on, if you get a bigger why and decide to press on to the farther shore you will find, if you look, willing mentors with ideas and suggestions that will help you not only have a more pleasant journey but will also encourage you and stimulate your own imagination to do more that you ever thought you could do. I hope you choose the latter but either way I bless you and pray for your fulfillment and happiness.

Self Motivation-something is missing

Self Motivation...something is missing and I think it's the motivation. There is plenty of self but not too much motivation. I am a business owner and investor, this leaves me time to also help out at the local newspaper as a District Manager. That means I work with children and parents of children. In the last decade it has become most difficult to find people young or even older ones who want to take up the responsibility of a paper route. Not long ago a paper route was the first step of building a business on your own or at least a promising career. Anymore that same scenario doesn't hold up. I'm not sure why it is but I do have some ideas and I'll share them with you. Understand these are not scientific observations but just my personal thoughts.

Regarding children, say ages 10 to maybe 14, I suspect that they find it easier to ask one of their working parents to give them $20 or $30 to buy something than to take up a paper route that they will have to do every day after school. As long as a person can get what they want for not doing anything it's not unlikely that they will want that route and self motivation just goes out the window.

When we hear success stories it very often has at it's base or beginning a measure of difficulty not commonly found in the majority of the population. Without struggle even a plant doesn't grow strong. I was thinking of the trees that hang on to a crag buffeted by winds and storms. They are tough and can now withstand whatever nature hands out. On the other hand I know of huge Douglas firs on the West Coast of my state of Washington whose roots are so shallow, because of the abundant rain, that a good high wind can knock them over. Same with people, if we have it too easy we get soft and lose any motivation we may have started with.

I'm telling you about how it is in the world of newspaper carriers, but I see the same lack of self motivation when it comes to the normal work place and especially to the work at home work place.

I'm associated with a group of online marketers who have been given a great opportunity and great reward if they are willing to actively pursue a certain objective for the next thirty days. Many are taking the challenge but it is only a small percentage of those who have been invited to participate. Why is that? Why are not more joining in? While I'm sure that some of it has to do with an already too busy schedule and a full plate of activity what about those who do have time but just aren't ready or willing to commit to a temporary rigorous schedule. I'm guessing it has something to do with self motivation.

So what can be done about it, especially if the ones who lack motivation are in your own marketing group? Well, there's the obvious...leave them alone and get some others. This is probably our most common solution and maybe even the best. But what about the part where we like to help people reach their goals and accomplish more than than they think they can. Is there still hope for that idea?

Are Words Things?

Are words Things?

Are words things? Well, in the mouth of a tyrant they can create excitement and adulation or death and destruction. In the mouth of a poet they can be stimulating and encouraging or soft and soothing. Words create images and transmit ideas. Words are the first signs that an infant is becoming a child and beginning to communicate in an organized way. Words are powerful to move an audience to tears or a nation into action.

Words are things. In America we have the marvelous example of the Declaration of Independence to prepare the way for a divorce from England. The Constitution then set up and organized the way that we would be governed. Yes, words are things and powerful things they are when handled properly. On second thought words can be powerful even when handled incorrectly. Think of a young boy or girl who is treated with words of scorn and distain...don't you know that they will be affected the rest of their lives by such "things"? Then what of a child who is raised with loving and kind words, words of strength and encouragement? You already know the difference. You may have even grown up under one or the other.

Words are wonderful things. With words we can either praise or curse. We can be lifted up or saddened. We can be informed and educated or entertained and it's all done with words. Words can be expressed or suppressed, as we see in the case of censorship. Why else would anyone want to suppress or censor words if they were not considered effective and powerful? In fact, words are effective and powerful enough to change attitudes and minds in one direction or another. So what happens?

Those who have control of the outlet of words sometimes try to control their effectivness or expression. In a free and open society "censorship" is an evil word. Those of us who have had the freedom of expression chafe and rankle at even the idea of censorship. Why would we be so affected simply by having what we have to say or write restricted or limited? I think it's primarily because censorship always comes from the top down, from those in power on to those of less power. Censorship does not go the other way, from the bottom to the top.

So we protest or find an alternative way to say or write our words. While we have air to breathe and a way to express our thoughts we will use words to reach out to one another, to share ideas and just to communicate, which is something humans love to do. Even these few thoughts that have come from my mind are now given to you. You can evaluate them. You can accept or reject them. But in this simple transaction of writer and reader we have shared something of ourselves. A wonderful part of being human is that we have been given, by our creator, this gift of words. Weather we speak them or write them we are expressing our humanity because we really do like to share with one another.

What is Nutrition?

What is nutrition really? I was looking for some definitions on the Internet and found many. But when you come right down to it you and I both know what it means. It means eating foods that have real value in them. In other words it is eating foods that are going to help our body maintain and repair itself. After all our body is designed to operate at 100% capacity depending on what we are doing at the moment. Proper nutrients provides the fuel to keep us going all day and repair any damage during our rest time. When I talk with friends or co-workers about eating a more balanced diet or choosing more nutritious food rather that a calorie full and food value empty fast food they mostly dismiss what I say. Oh, yes they are courteous enough but basically think I am a little off base. Why shouldn't they eat whatever they want if it tastes good?

Well, statistics are indicating that if we just eat what tastes good without paying any attention to it's food value we are courting with the disaster of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and a myriad of other health concerns. Our bodies need good stuff going in so that it will provide the building blocks to maintain our good health as God intended.

My primary business has to do with using Nutrition from Aloe Vera as part of the nutrition we provide our bodies. But that's only a one ingredient of doing the right thing. Another part is by being involved with a product that is a food supplement our mind set is altered so that we begin to think in terms of what's best for us rather than just what tasted good. I personally believe that our taste buds were intended to help us determine if a food was toxic or healthy. Today, especially with so many sugared and processed foods, our taste buds are confused. Now we have cravings that lead to poor eating habits and therefore less than optimum health.

Videos like "Supersize It" and "Food Matters" are beginning to get the word around about the real value of much of the foods we eat. There is also much information available on the Internet that will help improve our health if we will just have the concern and take the time to find out about it. Let me know if you want some help or direction.

Finally, what concerns me the most is not just that adults are eating too much of the wrong thing, but that today's children are also learning these bad habits of fast food and inadequate nutrition foods. As adults we owe it to the next generation to make some changes so that cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke are become less of a menace rather than more common..

The Gerson story tells how most every disease known to man could be overcome with proper nutrition. I know of doctors (MD's) who treat cancer and win by nutrition only but they can't practice in the United States for fear of being charged with malpractice. Cancer and other long term diseases are very profitable for the established sickness business and they have made sure that the laws are on their side. Pharmaceutical and Medical lobbies are among the most powerful and they have made sure that laws are passed that favor them.

Creative Writing for the Internet and Veretekk Support

Creative Writing for the Internet and Veretekk Support are a combination that works. I am a member of the organization called Veretekk, in fact I am a trainer with them. But even though I should know how everything in Veretekk works, sometimes I need help.

Tonight the help came in the form of David Ogden who lives in the Phillipines, I live in the Northwest United States. Thanks to David's willingness and the amazing technology of the Internet, in this case, Skype, he was able to send me a file I needed to use in a Wordpress blog. When I found myself unable to connect the dots and make it work, David called me on Skype and talked me through the process. Now the file is in my blog backoffice and everything is working just fine.

The reason I wanted to mention it is because this is a story that could be told many times from other Veretekk members who have reached out with a question in the support group and found a similar response from a helper. By combining all the knowledge available in Veretekk and making it possible for others to tap into this wealth of knowldege we all benefit. This is free enterprise in action. None of this is forced by some government program, rather it is a group of willing entrepreneurs working together for the common good. The difference between what we do and what the government wants to do for us is that we decide what is our own common good.

Didn't mean to get into politics but there are strange things going on in the land of the free and home of the brave and it's heavy on my mind.

Creative writing for the Internet and Agenda 21...what is Agenda 21? Agenda 21 is a program that is affecting your life today and will continue to affect the lives of your children and grand children for many years to come. You can click on the link at the start of this article to learn more about it. I have only begun to find out about it myself and I am glad I did. It is a cancer that is spreading across our country and around the world at an ever increasing pace.

Part of it you have undoubtable heard about. It is presented as the way to save our world and our way of life but in fact it will destroy not only our way of life but also our nation. Have you ever heard of NAFTA or GAT? Remember that we were told of the many benefits that would accrue to us with these agreements? Apparently that hasn't happened because even when Barack Obama was camaigning he said he would get us out of them. We are not out of them and are even more deeply into them than ever before.

Have you ever heard about the North American Union? One of it's key parts begins with a super highway that goes from the Texas/Mexican border all the way up into Canada. It will make toll roads of some of our exisiting freeways and be controlled by a foreign government. Once Texans realized what it was many opposed it and may have slowed down it's progress but those who want it will not give up easily. Believe it or not many people think that we in the United States would be better off, meaning safer and more prosperous, if we were joined together with Canada and Mexico in a North America Union. If you think I'm kidding just Google-North American Union and read about it for yourself.

Going a step further you might want to learn about Agenda 21 which came out of the Earth Summit meeting in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. On the surface it all sounds good but the more you know about it the more you realize that it's not what it appears and is actually something quite sinister and not at all good for us. Weather you are an American or Canadian or Mexican citizen I encourage you to look into this. You may hear that what I'm sharing is about conspiracy stuff but conspiracies are something done in secret. While much of what is going on is done in secret much more is open and very available for you to learn about. I leave it to you to decide for yourself.

Creative Writing for the Internet and Family Camp

Creative writing for the Internet and Family Camp...so what's the connection? This and every Labor Day weekend many of our church members attend a family camp in the woods, near a lake, north of Spokane, Washington. Here's the connection. We write content to this blog, hopefully something of value, with the idea that someone who reads our offerings is favorable inclined toward us so that a relationship would develop or if one exists that it would be enhanced. In other words we look forward to meeting new people whose lives we may be able to enrich and very likely by whom our lives would also be blessed.

Family camp does the same thing although there is no intent to market. Wait a minute! What am I saying? Of course there is an intent, well we wouldn't call it marketing, but to help strengthen the faith of believers and instill the Spirit of Christ in the young believers. Let me take an aside: Selling is the process of helping another person see the value of what we have to share with them and what benefits would accrue to someone who uses our product, service or idea. In sales we have a variety of marketing or sales tools. In sharing Christ we use His Word, the Holy Bible and our experience with Him. Those of us who know Him and enjoy His life have a strong desire to share it with others. This is a joyful part of family camp.

As we write for the Internet our intent is to expand our sphere of influence and build business and personal relationships. At Family Camp we also look for new relationships and hope to more deeply established one with people we already know.

Part of this is because as human beings we like relationships. We have many and different kinds like family, neighbor, co-worker, employee-employer, seller, customer, husbands, wives etc, you get the picture. At family camp we have an opportunity to build on what we already have and discover new things about people whom we know but really don't know. We are so often surrounded by people in a shallow way without truly "knowing" them. This isn't good or bad, it's just the way our life evolves. Family Camp changes that.

This camp was no exception, indeed it proved what was shared earlier. I had no less than nine extended visits with individuals, all of whom I have known for many years through our attending the same church meeting. But it's possible to do that and just not have the time or have taken the time to "visit" above and beyond the meeting time. These visitations and conversations made this camp trip the most rewarding and value laden of all previous ones and there have been many.

Family camp is different than other times in that communication with the daily world is put into neutral; There is no TV, no Internet and only limited phone use because of poor reception, and little else to distract from spending time together. So we learn about each other. Of course since it's a Christian family camp we spend time with Christ. We also have meetings for all ages. Something special for the young people is a campfire meeting. This time is given over to song and praise and something about relationship with our Creator.

I have been away from the computer these four days and since I don't want to get out of the habit of daily writing I am sharing my weekend with you. If you did something special over this very American holiday I'd be glad to hear from you. Do you see that even in doing that we would begin a relationship. It doesn't really matter if it becomes a personal or a business one. What does matter is that we are willing to reach out and meet another of God's creatures and get to know them. Creative Writing for the Internet-purpose

Creative Writing for the Internet is always done with an end in mind. We want to provide valuable information to our readers so that they will come back to see what new ideas we might have to share. As we write content for them we are constantly aware of the need to keep the writing keyword specific so that the search engine spiders will also find our offering attractive.

Also as our readers become acquainted with us and begin to know, like and trust us there is a better possibility that one day they will do business with us. After all we are on the internet to build an expanding sphere of influence and thereby grow our business and income. Adding new readers or customers is always an ongoing process. By continually adding to the content of our blog or website we, hopefully, keep our present readers interested and also, hopefully, attract new readers. When I think about blogs I read or sources I read or listen to they are only ones who write or talk about something that interests me. If what I am reading or listening to does not hold my interest I stop reading or listening. I can only guess that others might do the same thing.

So as we do our creative writing for the internet we try to stay aware of a couple of principles. One is that everyone is not going to be interested in what we write no matter how well we do it. The other is the ones who are interested in the subject of our writing will decide as they read weather of not our writing gets to the point and gives them something of value. If it doesn't do that we will lose them. If it gives value we just might gain a new friend or even possible a new customer or client.

This brings up the idea of improving our skills as writers for the purpose of search engine optimization. While our online class is going on for only five weeks, it will be recorded for anytime listening and our writing will be available for a long time. Even as we add to this blog we are getting practice and in time will even do a better job than we are doing today. Creative Writing for the Internet

Creative writing for the Internet opens up all kinds of possibilities for expressing new ideas creatively. Just look at the content of this blog and you will see what happens when different people are given an opportunity to write about the same keyword. You can see that it is not just about writing but it is about sharing information about different subjects creatively. This work in progress is a lesson in itself for anyone who is interested in learning more about search engine optimization.

If you will start reading from the bottom first, when we began, you will see that most of the content was about the act or idea of writing. Later on the content began to take off in different directions so that today you will find ideas ranging from self improvement to nutrition and a number of ideas in between. This is good because it gives you a way to see how someone like Butch Hamilton, our mentor, can write so many articles about search engine optimizations. I mention Butch, but as you read this blog you will see that all the writers are quite capable of getting an idea down on paper (or a monitor) and expressing it well. You will also note that some have commented in the beginning they were not particularly skilled with the written word.

This business of writing seems so intimidating to a person who has not done much of it, but I can tell you from my own experience, the more time you spend at the keyboard getting not just words but ideas down in writing the easier it gets. This should not come as any surprise since, as we have discussed previously, the more often we do a thing the easier it becomes. I recall reading a quote from a well known author, whose name I do not recall at the moment, said, "No one likes to write, but every one likes to have written". I'm sure there are some people who actually do like to write, but the idea still stands that there is some kind of internal reward for seeing our ideas in print. I think it somehow solidifies what we think.

Perhaps that is why as we write down our thoughts and can see them in a different perspective we become better writers, because we think more clearly. This observation is not scientific fact, just my opinion. I only really thought of it as I am putting the idea of it into a written form right now.

So let me encourage you, if you have not done much writing. Try it, better yet don't just try...determine that you can do it and just get started. It's a funny thing about writing, once you get started, even if it's just one sentence, your creative juices will begin to flow and soon you will see the white page getting more black on it. Then you go back and edit and maybe do some re-writing and soon you will have a polished article or at least some kind of comment. In the vernacular, "Just do it!"

Creative Writing for the Internet

If you look up "creative writing for the Internet" on Google you will find that our blog is on page one. It's been there for several days and we only started the blog ten days ago. This should be a good indicator of the importance of adding relevant content to gain position for your page or site. In fact the more I learn about search engine optimization the more it becomes evident that content is king.

I realize that there are other parts of SEO that are important like key words, tags etc. but it looks like the addition of new key word rich content is what the spiders like best. What we most want to do is feed the spiders, but the content should make interesting reading to your site visitors too. That's where the creativity comes in, we have to think like our reader and provide what they want or they will not stay on our site or learn to know, like and trust us.

One of the most fascinating things about learning SEO is that it is not as complicated as we naturally assume it is. Sure, there are skills to learn and apply along with writing content, but they are learnable skills (is learnable a real word?), anyway you know what I mean.

By approaching the learning process along with others who are at different skill levels it just sort of rubs off, kind of like osmosis. So the things we need to do become simple, maybe even ordinary but nevertheless we have to keep doing them over and over. Most any skill is gained by doing something in repetition. Think of what an athlete must go through to gain the necessary skill to compete. Learning about SEO and writing new and worthwhile content are the same in that we have to do it and keep on doing it, regularly.

So I write...and read what others on my team are writing. I also attend the class to gain the insights of our mentor, Butch Hamilton. Fortunately, the training is recorded at his video site so we are able to review and catch up in case we have to miss a session. Actually, the ability to review is most beneficial because we can stop and start and go back over an idea to better understand it, if we need to.

How do I use aloe vera? I start my day with a shower using aloe vera shampoo and conditioner. Then I use aloe vera deodorant for continued smelling good all day. The next this I do is apply aloe vera gelly to any skin conditions that might warrant it. After that I drink 3-4 oz. before breakfast to make sure I get my daily portion of extra nutrition. Depending on the weather I might use aloe vera lip balm or aloe vera sunscreen.

When you think about it aloe vera is one of the best all around products to have in your life. It's not only for helping in the healing process for burns, as it's long been noted for, but as you can see there are many other uses for it. I haven't even mentioned the beauty products that have been made from aloe vera. But one of the problems is that many products use only enough aloe vera to be able to say it is an ingredient in their product. It's a great marketing tool because the helathy properties of aloe vera are so well known. So when you are looking for aloe vera based products be sure you are getting the real thing and not something that has been watered down.

Creative Writing for the Internet Class Online

The online class,"Creative Writing for the Internet", is being of great value to me. I was in a kind of going nowhere attitude. I had lost my business focus. Most everything else in my life was just fine but I'd lost the edge, the enthusiasm, the excitement of being in business. Then along came the challenge from Butch Hamilton to join a team of like minded marketers in an SEO adventure with the search term of Creative Writing for the Internet. I accepted the challenge and everything has changed.

Now I start each day with the idea of getting some more relevant content entered into my Edit Plus and see what comes of it. Mostly I'm not sure in the beginning of writing just what is going to turn out but by having the guidepost of a great key word phrase opens the door and lets some light in. I also get ideas by reading what other participants have written in the last 24 hours. I see now that some are branching out and sharing more details of other items that are of interest to them. We have been given the freedom to do this and it still plays into the content of the key word. We also have been given permission to link to other places and that means we are creating back links.

We have had two Saturday meetings. In each one I gain more knowledge about SEO and writing good content that stays key word specific. I have seen in my own writing that it's not difficult to get away from the subject and begin to meander. I'm hoping that as I write more and read what others are writing I will become more effective. The best part of what's happening is that I'm having fun. This really is not work, this business of creating something every day. In fact I am finding it to be stimulating and it's making my normal thought process more organized and productive.

The Creative Writing for the Internet online class is everything I had hoped for and even much more than I had expected. I really thought I had good idea of what made up SEO but I have learned so much already that now I look back and see that I was ignorant.

Creative Writing for the Internet-Sunday Musings

My creative writing for the Internet has taken a day off. It's Sunday afternoon and I'm catching up on some other work that needs my attention, but I still wanted to make some kind of offering. If you are a regular visitor to the Sunday afternoon visit with Tom Prendergast, CEO of Veretekk you are probably getting ready to sit at your computer and be updated on what's going on with Veretekk.

I know that the server move from California to Wyoming is in the works and will be happening in the next few days. So I'm guessing that Tom will tell us something about that. There is also much work going on in the background in preparation for the eventual launch of the V2 part of Veretekk. I'm sure that I'm not the only on who is eager to see it, but like other things that are worthwhile we learn to wait until it's ready.

I'm glad to see that we have added a couple of new names to the list of contributors to the blog-Creative Writing for the Internet. The more writers the better it is for all of us. Butch has given us free rein to write how and about what we want. I'm looking forward to the critiques and corrections that we might be given. After all we don't learn if we just keep making the same mistake and not be corrected. And since Butch is such a gentle soul I'm sure any critique he gives will be done with kindness and grace.

Creative Writing for the Internet and Self Promotion go hand in hand. The writing creates the place for the promoting of one's self. How do you feel about promoting yourself? Are you uncomfortable with the idea? Does it seem kind of egotistical? I remember in my youth, when my uncle Bill, a successful businessman in the steel industry, had his name LECKENBY written vertically in big letters above his steel fabricating plant. At the time I thought it "just not right", to be so forward in promoting his family name. Obviously I didn't understand anything about business.

I work at the local newspaper. I'm in Circulation and have nothing to do with the Advertising department, but I have learned some things from them. Print advertising is expensive and has one primary purpose: First to promote the name of a person or company and second to tell about what that person or company can do for a customer. If I have a grocery store I'll certainly let people know that I sell a "name" brand like Coke or Levis, but first I would want them to think of my store as the place to buy the product.

In our town we are seeing a lot of campaign signs promoting someone who is saying vote for me. This is blatant self promotion, but do we think any less of a person running for Sheriff to let us know who he is and what he stands for? I think not. Self promotion begins at birth. Just think about it...what is the first thing a new born baby does? It starts yelling at the top of it's lungs saying, "I'm here and I'm hungry and please change my diaper too!". Growing children do it too..."Mommy, Daddy, watch me, I can tie my own shoe...or something like that". So why is it any different if we want someone to do business with us? We need to let them know who we are, and help them determine weather or not they would like to do business with us. We do this with our continuous output of creative writing for the Internet.

So if we are having a problem with promoting ourselves in order to build our business we just need to, "get over it". In reality it is the proven way to let people get to know, like and trust us, which is essential if we are ever going to get out the the 95% who fail and get into the %5 who are doing business online and making it.

Why do Creative Writing for the Internet?

Why should we do creative writing for the Internet? If writing just to add content to a blog or a web site there would be no reason for it. We write content with a definite purpose in mind. We are online in order to expand our sphere of influence and to build lasting business relationships in order to promote our business interests.

After all, what is the purpose of business? I normally think of it as, "making a profit". But as I scouted the Internet I discovered a better definition by Peter Drucker, and that is: "....the purpose of business is to create a customer". I like that definition better. It is more personal and in my mind is actually more accurate. Sometimes the idea of "profit" carries with it images of those in business who have abused and manipulated the capitalist system to create a huge gulf between the business owner(s) and the customer(s). The idea of creating a customer carries with it the image that both parties benefit with each transaction.

We write content to answer the question a prospect asks when they use Google, or Yahoo or some other search engine. Let's say that a person is wanting information about, oh I don't know, maybe "creative writing". If we have written good content that is keyword specific so that the search engines move our page to the top then a person would find our information. If they like what they read they may be inclined to seek us out either with a phone call or an e-mail, you know, to answer more questions. They may even be impressed enough with what they have read that they might become interested in participating with us in our business activities.

Butch Hamilton, our mentor and coach, has given those who are interested in learning how to promote a site to the top of the search engines an opportunity to watch him do it. Creative Writing for the Internet

How many times have I said, "I'm not creative, I never think of anything new, how do the creative people do it?" Then I remembered that the God I serve is creative, very creative. I am made in His image and likeness and therefore I must be creative. So I just have to accept that I am able do creative writing for the Internet to accomplish my purpose of building credibility in my name, my reputation and value in the relationships that come from it.

When we think that we are not creative we are selling ourselves short. We ARE creative. Give a child a stick or a pile of dirt or cans from the kitchen and watch him or her create all kinds of imaginary or real "things". We start off knowing that we can do anything or be anything and then gradually morph into what or who we are today. Ask a kindergarten class how many of you can sing, and all the hands will go up. Ask a high school class the same question and you would be lucky to get two or three to say yes. Why is that? I think it's because we begin to accept limitations that we, or other's put upon us.

Maybe we have been told that we are "stupid" or "not too bright", perhaps even in jest, but in time it takes a toll on our thoughts and the image of ourselves. How many times have you heard someone, or maybe even yourself say, " I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket"? I grant you that some do have more mellifluous voices than others but when the National Anthem plays or we sing praises to God in our church meetings do we really care how we sound? I have noticed that I think I sound better when I sing next to someone with a great voice but nothing really changes, just my impression.

So why am I saying all this? I'm saying it to encourage you to take a chance, write something. Get some words down on paper or on the monitor screen. The more you do it the more your will be able to do it. Just this morning I had labored over an article and was putting the finishing touches on it. There was another window open on my computer and as I tried to close it I was prompted to save it. "Knowing" that I no longer needed that window, I clicked delete, only to discover that what I destroyed was the article I wanted!

After I calmed down and quit groaning, I realized that it was good practice and opened up another page and started writing this. When I first learned to ride a horse, I occasionally fell off. When I first learned to use a canoe, I made some major mistakes. The same is true with writing; the more we write the easier it gets. And if we pay attention to wise critique, we will one day write better!

Create Trust with your Creative Writing

How do we create trust with our creative writing? That's a valid question and one we should consider as we are composing our article. How do we come to trust another person? Isn't it by observing that they follow through on what they say they are going to do? Maybe it is by seeing what they say or write matches with what we know as the truth. That's why exageration is always met with an unusual measure of skepticism.

Trust is such a fragile thing that we must be on guard that we never betray a trust nor be taken in by someone who sounds good but doesn't ring true in our experience. One of my favorite proverbs in the Bible is Proverbs 22:1, "A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold." (NIV) The reason it is so important to keep a good name or maintain a high level of trust is because all other human relationships rest on it. You cannot have a secure union if it does not have trust as it's foundation. So as we express ourselves in word (written or spoken) or deed, we begin to accumulate ever more levels of trust in those we hope to influence toward our perspective.

The next part is that we must be very careful and even cherish the trust that is placed in us, so as to not ever betray it or destroy it. That makes it ever more important for us to be sure whatever we have to offer in the way of ideas or products or services be at a higher than normal standard.

It is unfortunate that in our present age trust, especially in the market place, seems to be in a somewhat short supply. The "what's in it for me" part of a business equation is okay in your prospects, but it's not okay in the one who is providing the product or service. So as we express ourselves through our creative writing we must hold high the principles that we would expect from our parents or grandparents and pass them along to our own generation and even the next.

If we are honest, we will write with honesty. If we are dishonest, we will use exageration and hyperbole to stretch the truth in order to get what we want without regard of the welfare of others.

So I encourage you, dear reader, write with integrity. Write with clarity and enthusiasm. Write to be understood rather than to impress with lofty rhetoric. Even though writing is work, look forward to the enjoyment of having written well and sharing something of value. We will all benefit from knowing you better and having an opportunity to believe in you and trust what you have said through your creative writing.

Writing for the Internet

Writing for the Internet is much the same as writing for any other venue. The primary difference is that you are constantly aware of "key words" you intend to showcase. The key words are what someone looking for information would enter into a search engine, like Google. The idea is to add content to your web site or blog using the key words with the intention of getting your site on the first page of the search engine.

The next part is to "create" new content by taking what you "know" that you believe will be of value to someone else and putting those ideas or thoughts in to a type written form. It might be easier to think of what you are doing as writing a story. Any good story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. So even though your are writing something more like an article it should still have a similar format. The start should give a brief idea of what you are going to share about. Next will be to fill in some details, to expand on the idea, and finally to close your article (story) by summing up a conclusion of what you have just shared.

Here's a way that someone once explained the process: Tell 'em what you are going to tell 'em,... then tell 'em,... then tell 'em what you told 'em. That pretty much sums it up. Keep it simple and share one basic idea per article.

As you spend more time writing and composing your articles you will gain more skill. Also the more you write the easier it is to write. My experience has been that if I stay away from writing for an extended period of time that I get to thinking I don't have anything to write about, it's kind of like a writer's block. On the other hand the recent challenge that Butch Hamilton gave us has spurred me to get busy and start putting some words down on paper (on the computer screen). If you will stay with me and follow my blog I hope you will see that my skills are improving and that I do have something to share that will be of value to you.

I know that many people who are doing some kind of home business say that one of the parts of doing this kind of business is that they have an opportunity to "help" people. I think that is a noble premise and I applaud it. I like to do that too. What excites me even more is to be able to encourage someone to do more than they even think they can do. As a Christian I know that every believer has been given certain gifts or talents. One of mine is to be an "encourager" and so I hope to encourage you to fulfill you potential, to keep going even when you get discouraged. We all can do more than we think we can, so we have to push and lift each other up.

I know this got off the subject, but I just had to share that with you.

So there you have it. Get keywords, get writing, keep writing...get keywords, get writing and keep writing. I don't need to wish you great success. You will just find it if you are headed in the right direction and just keep going.

What is Creative Writing?

What is creative writing? What do we really mean when we say that? Does it mean we are creating some kind of fiction wholly from our imagination? Does it mean that we will write subjectively about a idea we want to discuss? Does is mean to use words in an altogether different way than we learned to do in school? I suppose if could be most any of those ways and many more.

When we are writing creatively for the Internet we are talking about providing quality content that is focused on a particular subject. Our writing should be informative and concise. We will be expected to share valuable information others will find helpful and worth their time to read. Hopefully, we will be adding to the readers general or perhaps specific knowledge about our chosen subject.

Another part of creative writing for the Internet is to use keywords and keyword phrases that people using Google would enter into the search box. If no one is looking for your particular key word then no one will ever find what you have written and your time will have been wasted except for the practice you would have received. We want our writing to be productive though so choose your keywords wisely. I'm sure that Butch will be talking more about that in future training sessions.

I can't find the quote now but once I read that Guy de Maupassant, the well known French writer said, "give me a word or a phrase and I'll write a story". I've recently discovered that given a keyword or phrase it is much easier to begin and even compose a meaningful article. So perhaps I could be so bold as to suggest that you first discover the key words you want to use and then just write one of them on your computer, think about it, and begin writing. You will also want to use that key word sprinkled throughout your story.

The nice thing about composing on the computer is that it is so easy to edit as you go along and make spelling corrections with a few key strokes. So what if it doesn't look good with the first draft, just go back and re-write, that's what authors do. Even as I'm encouraging you to write I am being encouraged myself.

They don't want to hear about that. But if you indicated an interest in them chances are they would be willing to communicate with you. Understand that every one won't but at least it puts you in a better light for any future contact. It is a better way of using Blast-o-matic.

There was a time when most all marketing was done one to one. I had a cow you had a garden. I wanted potatoes, you wanted milk, so we traded. Later some of the trading was done with money, coins or just something of value. In our modern day economy much of the value of marketing has been lost in the numbers. Today we are are most often very far removed from the cow and the garden. In that process we have lost something of value in the normal interaction of people doing business, one to one.

As I was sitting at my computer I was thinking how those of us who use the business model of multi-level marketing or network marketing have returned to the original way of doing business, one to one. That may be one of the reasons that we so much enjoy our way of life as personal relationship marketers. We get to know our customers and they get to know us and we are all enriched by the experience of our knowing one another and doing business together.

I think sometimes we may feel "marginalized" because others do not see our marketing system to be a professional as the "corporatized sales types". But I propose that our way of doing business is most appropriate for this present day when there is such a need to have meaningful friend relationships.

I know this personally and millions of others can testify that some of our best friends and most meaningful relationships are with our customers and partners in our own mlm business. It is also true that most of our fellow employees, while pleasant to work with and perhaps even close friends, do not share the common bond that exists between members of the network marketing community. Why is this? I believe it's because we are held together by a common thread, that of being like minded in regards our own destiny. We are entrepreneurs. We are able to have control of our daily activities and direct the course our future.

Like you I receive many requests each day in my e-mail inbox to try this or that greatest deal. You know, the one that's going to make me rich overnight, or almost. It's too bad that some see our business as something so cheap that they are using spam techniques to attract our attention and our business. I do hope that in time ones doing that will see the error of their ways and honestly learn just how our wonderful business works. It's about relationships. It's about doing business with people we know, like and trust. It's about being honest and caring more about what others will gain by doing business with us than how much we will profit from it.

As we approach election day in the United States there will be some changes. Weather they will be for the better or worse will be decided later. But for those of use who are engaged in network marketing the only changes that affect us are the ones we make each day as we look for and find new people to get started in our business. Politics aside, we make our own stimulus package and help others to do the same.

Recently, I was reviewing some of the basics of our Multi-level marketing by watching some videos of those who help us promote our way of doing business. There was Robert Kayosoki, Tim Sales, President Clinton and even Kevin Spacey explaining why mlm, network marketing, relationship marketing works so well for those who work it. I felt renewed in my spirit to watch as each one explained and developed the idea that has made more millionaires in the last half century than any other business model. We are blessed to be ones who know about it.

I think as we learn more about our craft and develop our various skills we begin to develop a sincere desire to share with others, not so we might become enriched by their involvement but that they would be blessed by their association with us and the ideas we espouse. As I watched the videos it was almost as though I was seeing it for the first time and names and faces of people who I wanted to add to my list kept coming to my mind. So maybe an unintended consequence of reviewing the fundamentals is a renewing of the initial enthusiasm felt when the mlm idea was first presented.

If your warm market is gone and you can't think of any one else who would gain by what you know maybe you would want to also watch some of those videos. You will find them on You Tube or you can just Google their names. It might not affect you the way it did me but who knows, if you don't try you will never know. This is just a thought for the day, not a basic fundamental. But the idea did start when a trainer I respect suggested that everyone we bring into our business should watch two videos, and a book, which are:

In the world of network marketing one of the first steps is to develop the mind set of a leader. Even if you have never thought of yourself as a leader if you are going to head up a team, your team, you are going to become the leader for all the members of your team. So before you move too far forward consider what it will mean to become a leader.

I would suggest that step one is to say to yourself," I am the leader of my team", even though you may not have much of a team yet. You will have one if you believe it and work toward it. So what do you need to know if you are becoming a leader? I'm no expert at this so am only going to make some suggestions based on my lifetime experience. First a leader must care about people. If you are not willing or able to put the interests of others before your own you will constantly struggle with finding that even though you have chosen to become a leader no one is following you. People will follow someone who is concerned about them and willing to coach and train them.

Here's a good lesson from the Bible. Two brothers asked that Jesus would seat them, one to His right and one to His left when He came into the kingdom. This is His reply...from the gospel of Mark.

Mar 10:42 But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, "You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. Mar 10:43 "Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Mar 10:44 "And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. Mar 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

So we see from this that on the highest authority we are wise to esteem others more highly than ourselves and therefore become a "servant leader". You may have heard that term recently. There are several books written about it but the concept is not new. It's an original idea with God and it works very well with men, and women. This doesn't mean you become a doormat, it simply means that your first concern is for others. In fact the theme of my company, and it isn't new with them. I first heard it from the training master himself: Zig Ziglar ...

You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want. ...

Leaders are learners. Leaders are the ones to do it first, to step out and take a chance, to try something new even if it is unpopular. You are becoming a leader if you find that you already do some of these things. So let's get back to leading your team. You need to be the one to provide the way to find leads for your group. Please don't buy leads. Your folks will become discouraged before they get started by calling leads who have already been called several times and really don't want to talk with them about the next great deal. Some people can do it but not most can't or won't and certainly not ones who have never been involved in sales or marketing,which will include many of your new members.

So I propose my leads program simply because I've seen many and this is the best, in my opinion. However, that doesn't mean it's the best for you. You may want something all together different. But no matter which one you choose be sure to learn about it before you start to build your team. If you join one and then find out in midstream that it's not the one you want your team to use and you change leads programs, you will lose them as being indecisive and they will be reluctant to follow you. So I suggest that you be certain of your company and your leads program before you build your team.

You may have noticed that most of what I write is directed towards those who either are new to mlm, network marketing or ones who have tried and failed to make it work for them. If you are a long time successful marketer my writing will probably seem quite elementary to you. That's intentional. My interest is in helping those who are looking for some direction, who have tried and failed but are not willing to give up and will keep on until they succeed. There is great opportunity in marketing on the Internet and I only share what I have learned or am learning. Please write or call if you think I can be of service to you. How does God fit into my business?

In the Bible, the book of James it says this:

Jam 4:13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";
Jam 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Jam 4:15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."

So according to the Bible it would be a good idea to place God right in the center of our business. This has always been a challenge for me. I want to and am willing to do business with anyone. When I bring God or Christ into the discussion some will be offended and leave and others will embrace my business activity solely because I am a Christian. I do want to do business with Christians but I also do not want to exclude anyone who may not believe the same as I do.

So what's the solution? I think, for me it is to honor God any way that I can. If that means doing business with non-believers then I should do that. If what I say about my faith turns someone away is that any different that someone being turned off with the idea of multi-level marketing? I personally believe that mlm is the most honorable, honest and fairest business model available to us today. So how can I talk about business without mentioning something about network marketing? I can't.

I guess then that I must write to those who find both my faith and my business model acceptable and just know that it won't be a fit for everyone. But what is new about that? There was a time when franchising was considered by many in the business world as illegal. In fact it wasn't cleared up until the issue went to court and was finally deemed an acceptable and legal way to do business. Today it is a multi-billion dollar industry.

This message is kind of a discussion with myself as much as anything. I do hope you find something of value in it. If on the other hand you are offended either by my interest in mlm or God, perhaps it is best that you use the opt out link at the bottom of the page so that you will no longer be troubled with my ideas and thoughts. You have no doubt either been affected by the recession or know someone who has. You may be one who is fortunate to have a job or you may be one of those without a job. The job market is a fickle place. As companies downsize and much work formerly done at home is now outsourced to some place where labor is cheaper, the job outlook, in the US at least, is less than favorable. What can you do to insure that your family will be provided for with a reasonable dependable income.

Weather you are presently employed or are drawing unemployment you would be wise to consider building a business of your own on the side. With the mlm marketing model you can do that with a small investment in money and a minimal investment in time. However, the more time you are able to invest will probably pay significant dividends in the future.

My work at home business does not require any initial investment and has no monthly minimum purchases. You just join, buy some products that you are presently using anyway, but now buy them from your own company and then share what your experience with the products has been with others. There are also many good companies where you can get started with a minimal investment of maybe $35 to $200 and maybe a monthly auto ship of $30-$50. Either way it is a small investment to get started in a business of your own that you can operate from home.

Another benefit of having your own business is the tax advantage. There are two different tax structures in the US. One is for people who are employed, a W-2 person. The other is for anyone who has their own business. I won't go into the features and benefits of the tax advantage, you can find out much more about that just with info that is available on the Internet. But the benefit is big, and you owe it to yourself and your family to learn about it.

The uncertainties of the workplace and the changing economic times make it more important than ever before to have an alternate income plan. Call it a "Plan B" or a "Back up plan" or "an alternative income option", no matter you need to have one. The days of loyalty to a company or by a company are no longer here. It is not a question of everyone for him or her self, but rather...what can I do that will benefit the most people and will also give me a reasonable profit for my time and money investment?

I propose the idea that a well established, honest and successful mlm program is one of the best options available to you today. The reasons are that it is easy to get into and do as a part time activity until it is able to replace your present income. If you like what you now do you can always keep your mlm business as a part time income that is entirely up to you, there will still be the tax advantages.

If you are looking for a business I would suggest this one. But the main thing is which ever one you choose, check it out carefully and once you choose...stay with it. It's easy to find another business because there are always new ones coming on board, but you would be wise to not even look around for another once you have made your wise choice. Marketing with integrity

Integrity is defined in the dictionary as... adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. Unfortunately, it is a quality that is often missing in present day marketing, weather online or offline. And yet we yearn for, have a desire to be able to trust those with whom we do business. Perhaps that is part of the reason it is lacking in the current marketplace.

Because we do have a strong desire to trust we are more easily taken advantage of in our dealings with others. On the other hand even though we have often been disappointed in the honesty of others we, nevertheless can offer integrity to all the people we work with in our business dealings. We can be the ones who restore square dealing with our customers and clients and yes, even to our prospective clients and customers. It is in the depth of our heart that we find our true feelings or beliefs about how we are going to treat one another.

We all know the Golden Rule: Do unto others and you would have others do unto you. Basically this is just good business and good human relations. If we bring this simple creed to our business activities and add to it a desire to give more than we get, knowing we will be rewarded because that's just the way it works, we will raise the level of integrity in the market place another notch.

When there is an opportunity to slightly exaggerate the claims of our company or the size of our bonus check, just stop and realize that the only correct answer or comment is the truth. It will always suffice. Who cares if your company is the greatest and the best if it is build on hype and misleading statements? Sooner or later, and generally sooner, the truth will be out. Then comes a lack of trust that can never be regained, completely. That's why a betrayal in a marriage is so devastating...once a trust is broken even if it can be healed, will always leave a bit of doubt weather one can be fully trusted. That's like having a crack somewhere deep down in what would otherwise be a solid foundation.

So let's resolve that from this day forward we will be honest in what we say as we are sharing our business opportunity or product information with others. We won't stretch the truth or exaggerate. In reality if your product or service has real quality and value, that will be good enough. Even God, when He created the universe and all that is in it said only... this is good. He didn't say this is fantastic, marvelous, absolutely the greatest ever thing there is!!. He just said it was "good". If that's how He described this awesome place we live then perhaps we should be able to settle for just telling it like it is without any embellishments. What do you think? This is not what I normally add to my blog. However, I am a Christian and this is a letter from some friends who are serving the Lord in China. Their comments are an encouragement to me and hopefully will also be to you. With that said I offer this to you.

Dear Friends and Family,

We've had a lot of thunder and lightning the last few days as storm after storm has passed over our heads. Sometimes the thunder is so loud that even our cat looks disturbed! Ty and Cay have had fun standing on our balcony whooping and hollering back an the thunder.

We looked up some information about lightning and found out some amazing things. A bolt of lightning can have one billion volts of electricity in it, and the temperature of a lightning bolt is five times hotter than the surface of the sun! Isn't that incredible? We also found out that 9 out 10 people who are hit by lightning don't die! I think that is unbelievable! And did you know that every second there are approximately 100 bolts of lightning hitting the earth in different places? That is a lot of raw power happening continually all around the world.

I am amazed by these facts, they actually pale in comparison as I think about the power that belongs to the Creator of lightning. He is extremely powerful and the raw power in His fists and in His breath surpasses that of a lightning bolt. In fact it can't even be measured on a volt meter. His power does not just strike in flashes but is constantly at work in every corner of this universe holding things together, creating new life, and working wonders among the peoples. Not only that, He tells us in His word that He makes His great power available to everyone who belongs to Him! These facts are truly astounding!

Psalm 68:35 talks of this, "The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people." and Ephesians 1:19-20 speaks of the power that we are to experience as children of the King"...and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead... ". Acts 1:8 also tells us about the power that we receive when the Holy Spirit comes upon us so that we can be witnesses of His love and grace to the ends of the earth! I am left with such joy and hope as I consider The Powerful One who lives in us and who delights in the prayers of His children. Let us all press on to know Him more and experience more of His power in our lives. May our lives reflect more of His power to a world who needs to know who Jesus is.

We have a couple more stories to tell you from our summer travels.

Earlier this year there was a devastating earthquake in a Kham Tibetan area called Yuxu. We have some friends there and had been to visit them as a family last year. This summer Jim had the opportunity to go back to Yuxu and spend time with our friend Jimmy and his family. Going to Yuxu this time was like going into a refugee camp. The devastation is widespread with most of the city in rubble. The people have no where else to go so tents have been erected everywhere.

There are tent schools, tent post offices, tent grocery stores, tent businesses of all kinds including the tent hotel Jim slept in while he was there. It is a very sad sight and will take years of rebuilding - not just buildings but the lives and hearts of the people who went through the quake.

Our friend, Jimmy, told Jim that when the earthquake happened he was sitting outside his home saying mantras and fingering his prayer beads. He went on to tell Jim how he feels like all the religious ritual he has done over the years is worthless as it didn't do them any good in the quake. Over the two days of Jim's visit he told Jim story after story of pain he witnessed and experienced himself. God led Jim in some amazing ways to respond with speaking truth and hope into Jimmy's life.

For Jim those two days with Jimmy were the highlight of our travels this summer as it was so encouraging to witness the Holy Spirit deeply impacting our friend's heart. Pray with us for Jimmy and his family to put their hope in Jesus and that as they rebuild their lives that Jesus would be the new foundation they are building on.

Another highlight for us during the summer was going to visit a little village in an area that friends of ours have been working in for a couple of years. Our friends have helped to build a home for elderly people who have no family members to take care of them and they asked us if we had time to go and see it. It was quite something to arrive there and be swarmed by people all just hungry for love and attention.

At first they thought we were doctors and started telling us all their health problems. We told them we weren't doctors and didn't have any medicine but we could pray to the Most High God for their problems if they wanted. They were all so eager and basically swarmed us for prayer. Ty and Clay were awesome and just grabbed the football from the car and just started teaching the local urchins how to play.

When we left there that day we had full hearts because of how we had seen the people touched by Christ's love. It is amazing to be His hands and feet to people in such remote areas and we are eager to see the day when spiritual breakthrough happens in their lives.

Thank you also for your prayers for my nephew, Owen. God has been at work already. Last week we heard that the doctors had found out his knees were not fused like they had originally thought, and that with some therapy he will not need surgery on his legs and will be able to walk in future! This is amazing news which we give God the praise for! My sister and her husband are doing well and have been so encouraged by the number of people praying for them.

Thank you all for praying. God's power is displayed and His kingdom built as His people draw near to Him and seek His face.

My purpose in writing this blog is to explain how I use Integrated Marketing. My association with Veretekk and Forever Living Products goes back a long ways. I joined FLP in 1985 and Veretekk in 1998. If I had stayed faithful and not jumped around to different mlm's and leads program I would have saved my self a lot of money and disappointment. I would have also earned a good income. So I hope that something I write will give you pause before you go looking for greener grass.

If you are already in a solid and well established mlm stay with it. If you are already with a solid and well established leads program and it's working for you, stay with it. I believe most of the failure in network marketing is caused by having too high of hopes that you will get rich quick and when you don't comes discouragement and looking for another mlm or leads program.

On the other hand if you have not yet established yourself with a good, solid mlm company or a successful and creative leads program, you are welcome to join me. But do not even look at what I may have to offer if you already are moving successfully forward in your business. That would be counterproductive and contrary to what I have been saying to you.

The main idea is to integrate your mlm with your leads program so that you can take advantage of the leverage you will gain by doing so. Sure enough you can get your web site up in the search engines, like Google and Yahoo. But wouldn't it be better if in addition to doing that you also were able to generate leads who were interested in finding out about your business? I think this may be a rhetorical question because the answer is so obvious, isn't it?

So let's press on to other ways to use integration marketing. One thing to do would be to place ads in your local newspaper or nickle saver. You can also make videos and put them up on YouTube and point them to your site. By the way here is a free video producer you can have. This is all part of integrating all the different medias and methods of marketing into one focal point, that being your blog or web site.

I have an mlm business that I have chosen to work with. It is a well established company and I trust them and use their products. Recently I was exposed to another company, "a ground floor opportunity" no less. I was attracted to it for two reasons. One it is a quality company with a unique product and two, my grown children are involved in it. In fact that was the only reason I went to the opportunity meeting.

Next thing I know I am headed to an out of town meeting called a Super Saturday for training, but something just didn't seem right. It wasn't that I was going to give up on the mlm business I was in but I would be drawn in two different directions at the same time. This, in fact, is a dilemma many new and even perhaps older online entrepreneurs face. Should I change and take on a new business activity or should I give everything I have to my one business until I have reached the top of the pay plan then maybe look at something else? But then if you are at the top of the pay plan of a good company there would be no need to look further.

Today, especially on the Internet, there are so many options and opportunities that it is difficult to choose and easy to change. That's why it is so important that we take time to seriously evaluate a company we will associate with. But the Internet also makes it easier to do just that...evaluate. Most mlm companies now have an Internet presence and then there is Google where you can find out most anything there is to know about anybody.

Once you have chosen your company, like choosing a mate, stay with it. Experience has shown that jumping around with different companies, or mates only leads to misery and disappointment and often eventually to failure. I don't mean to be preachy here but I hope you see the point. I have jumped around both with companies and mates and have only found satisfaction and fulfillment when I finally settled and committed to one, company and one mate...for life.

The company I work with now I first joined in 1985. I stayed with them for a year and then moved on. Fortunately once a position is achieved you have it for life so while I'm starting over I can do it as an assistant manager and have the benefits of that but imagine if I had stayed with them for all these years! Now I having to rebuild my team and am paying for my failure to take my own advice. My hope is that you would not be so foolish and lose out on what you have already started.

There is one caveat to what I have shared here. Many who want to make money online get involved with fast start, quick easy money schemes. They are only focused on getting money and no concern on providing an honest and valuable service to anyone. These plans always fail. The only ones who make money at them are the people who get them started and it is not what I would call, "good business". If you are in something like that then I would encourage you to get out and find something of value that will really help whomever you serve. We will never get rich by striving after money. Oh, yes you might end up with some money but you won't be rich in the truest sense of the word.

My hope is that you will succeed at your chosen business and that you will be rewarded for your hard work and diligent service to others.

Yesterday I mentioned that there are two parts to my business activity. Today I will explain more about the lead generating part. Veretekk has been online since the late 1990's. You have found a business that you can do online. Everything is already set up for you. All you have to do is find some prospects, some people who would be interested in doing business with you. So what's next? I have a suggestion.

Get into a leads program. I happen to have one you can use but if you look around the internet you will find many others. In fact there are several very excellent ones depending on what your want to do and how you want to run your business. Take mine for example..., our primary focus is on lead generation, training and learning how to use search engine optimization (SEO) to help get your site to the top of the search engines, like Google or Yahoo.

Others focus on Attraction Marketing, which we also do just by the way we go about generating leads. Most will have various automated parts to help you eliminate tedious work. I have to admit that ours does that too. Like sending out mail to thousands with the touch of a button on your computer. You might like the way another one is configured, any way my point is that you have choices. I hope you will choose mine but weather you do or now I wish for you great success in your online business activities.

Now on to ideas for building your business online. So you have some way to generate leads, to find prospective customers for your product or service. I suppose the next important idea is your mindset. It is most important to consider how you "think" about your business. If you are using one of those money schemes or get rich quick programs I don't have anything to say to you. If you attitude is to get in and get as much money as quickly as possible what I have to share with you will be just nonsense. My interest is in helping people who are committed to building one business to prosperity and only after building it to a successful enterprise possibily consider adding another stream of income.

Actually, you will find in my leads program as well as others that there are already built into it a way to add extra income even if a person chooses not to join your particlar business. That is in the form of funded proposals, which are simply ways of generating income along the way to building rapport with your prospects and leading them into doing business with you. Our leads program has what are called traffic portals where people are offered a free tool they can use to help promote their own business. Some of these traffic portals are what we call profit portals because there is an upgrade included to get more value from them and in the process generates a profit for you. Most funded proposals work something like this.

Back to attitude: The way you think about your business and the relationship you will have with your clients is a key factor in not only the measure of success you will have but also how much you will enjoy doing your business. If your attitude is along the line of Zig Ziglar's famous quote,"You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want". This is a foundational principle in building an honest and worthwhile business. You will find a wealth of free information about attitude on the internet, I would suggest that you couldn't get any better than Zig Ziglar or Jim Rohn for starters. They are the ones everyone else emulates.

If you have been around marketing for any time at all you will have heard about the importance of having a list. This list is made up of prospects and possibly clients who are, at least somewhat, familiar with you because you have been communicating with them over a peroid of time with email. If you Google the term "marketing lists" you may get over 59 million responses, like I did. That would indicate that there is interest in marketing lists. I have some issues with the idea of list building to have people to whom you can continually market your products. I'll tell you what I mean.

My interest and purpose in participating in marketing online is to help others build a residual income to either add some extra to the family budget or perhaps break free from the "job". In the process of helping other people get what they want I will also get what I want which is the same thing, namely a residual income that will supplement what I already have as income. It seems to me that if I'm always just coming up with new things to sell my list my interest is more focused on helping me get what I want and giving little consideration to what others want.

I have been on lists where I was marketed to with ever more costly new things, ideas, trainings, or new launches of something or other. People who I came to know, like and trust do this as a matter of course and I decided that I didn't want to participate in or even learn the "secrets" of marketing online in this way. I want to show entrepreneurs how to attract people and show them "a way" to build a single business that will produce a residual income.

You see if your build a single business and for whatever reason the company behind your business should fail you still have your list of people with whom you can all build another business because you would have your leaders and each one of them would have their leaders because, they all learned how to attract like minded people to them.

I know this may be a controversial position in the light of the way business in created online now but this is the way I have chosen and I'm sticking with it. You could conduct exactly the same meeting each at their own computer. The only thing you wouldn't be able to do is shake hands with your guests. What do you think? Every Sunday night at 6 PM Pacific we have a "state of the company" meeting in our Veretekk web conference room. Tonight we just finished one and I wanted to record some of the new changes and improvements that are coming to my Leads Program.

Hosting is new to Veretekk, I mean that's one of the values we get with a Gold system. I'm just now learning about hosting and put up a blog called Aloe and Beesand it's already in number one position on Google. I've never been able to do something like that before. The reason is that I've been to training in Veretekk and learned what to do. Here it is: search out good key words and add new, relevant content. Takes time but the rewards will be worth it. I have been familiar with Veretekk for many years, however, I have not always been a member. I would use it for a time then for a period of time I would drop out. This was to my disadvantage. I would have much better off to just stay with it. Now that I can see the error of my ways I would encourage you to stay the course your are on, if you believe in it, and not wander from one business activity to another. This is not an uncommon practice among those of us who like to use the multi level marketing plan to build a business.

As I am building my last business I have recommitted myself to stay with the program until my goals have been accomplished. You see one of the key parts of my leads program is that it builds, it builds up and grows like a tree. So like a tree if it gets cut down or uprooted every now and then and replanted it will never reach it's full potential. This is not a good way to build a business.

By the way by now you will have noticed that I am not an mlm guru. I an just an individual who has an entrepreneural spirit. Along with that comes a desire for results and when they don't seem to come in a reasonable period of time I have been discouraged and tried something else. Now I am old and have learned my lesson. I hope it doesn't take you so long to learn it. The course once set must be continued to the end else what was the purpose in setting out in the first place.

My long time business is Forever Living Products. I use their products every day and drink the aloe vera juice. While I will still pursue FLP I have recently discovered a business that works very well alongside it in the Health and Wellness field. The name of this new company is Jus International. While FLP is long established, like over 30 years, Jus International is now (2010) less that two years old. Something old and something new, both have benefits and advantages.

If you are at this page you are probably someone who is or at least has an interest in working from home in a business of your own. That's where my interest lies too. How do you "think" about your business? Are you primarily focused on marketing it and getting people to join your business so you can make money and spend your time on the beach? Are you thinking that your business or product is the best there is and anyone and everyone should want it and be willing to pay for it?

Or perhaps you think of your business in terms of what it can do for others, or how beneficial it would be if everyone had your product or used your product. Why Veretekk is my leads program.

By the time you read this you will have probably had at least one experience with buying leads, yes? I have too. So many times in desperation to get something going with an online business I would end up looking for the best deal on purchased leads. And every time my experience was the same. It didn't seem to matter if the leads were nickel leads or five dollar leads they still were of little or no value. There is a good reason for that.

Do you know how a lead company gets leads? I'll tell you what I know and that is they advertise for something maybe a chance to win a tv or maybe a microwave. If really could be anything that someone would want and be willing to give their name and e-mail address for. Sometimes the ads are legitimate and are about some business opportunity but the effect is the same.

So when you call this lead or send an e-mail there is no connection between what you are looking for and what the lead signed up for. Consequently when you call they don't know who you are and have no incentive to talk with you. I am making some general statements here and don't mean to broad brush the lead selling business. On the other hand I have been scammed so many times that I do wish to raise a flag of caution lest you should waste your money like I did.

What is a lead?

In the realm of network marketing we often talk about leads. When we use the word "lead" what do we really mean? I'll give you my explanation.

A lead is a person. It is a person much like yourself who has an entrepreneurial spirit and likes the idea of being in business for themselves. They are also someone who has expressed an interest in something that you offered them.

The way you can tell if they are interested is that they gave you some information about themselves. Maybe it was name, e-mail address and phone number. If you have less than that you may want to question the value of your lead.

Another thing to remember about a lead is that rather than just being a name in your contact list or lead list, they have a life and some very real concerns that have led them away from the pack of those..."who lead lives of quiet desperation", as Thoreau would say. You responsibility is to help them find what they are looking for.

Perhaps the best way to discover a persons needs is to ask questions. The right question will help move a "lead" into a prospect and then into a customer or client. We will be discussing some of the possible questions you would ask in another letter.

Do you really need an mlm leads program?

If you have an mlm business online you need some kind of leads program. One of the fundamental business prerequesites for your business is that you must have prospective customers who are attracted to you enough to see what you have to offer. Our interests are always, at least most always, self directed. WIFFM (what's in it for me) is universally the most popular station.

If you have purchased leads in the past your experience is probably like most others in that the leads are not very responsive. Usually you have to talk to a lot of people to find one who is truly looking for what you have to offer. You do have options. There are now many ways online that make it possible for you to attract people to you and your business. We will discuss some of them.

Blogging: blogging gives you an opportunity to share your ideas with others. If what you have to say, or write, is in tune with those who read your blog you will have begun the relationship building that is necessary to grow a business. We do tend to prefer to do business with people we know, like and trust. A perceptive person can read between the lines and begin to understand you from the words you use and the ideas you express.

Social Networks: i.e. Facebook, Twitter, My Space, etc. all again give you a place to share something about yourself and maybe something about what your business is about. However, it is important to be reserved and selective in telling too much about your business, that should come in like an afterthought. For example...after you have written something about you or an idea you might make some comment toward the end of your message like: "if you like this idea you might want to check out this site, www.importantstuff.com or " we have been discussing this in our forum (www.whatever.com) or our blog (www.myblog.com) You get the idea. Mostly you want to offer something of value for free then the door is opened to something more.

I work with a company that offers free tools for online marketers to help them grow their business. This also is a good idea because most anyone who has a business online, especially a new one, needs leads and tools. If you can give them something useful to help their business, once again you have moved that much closer to building your sphere of influence and adding new friends to your growing list of potential business partners.

Why Attraction Marketing?

If you have a business that you operate by way of the internet what is one of the most important components? Would it be fair to say that it is probably customers? That would be customers who have an interest in what your are doing or what your are marketing? Generally if you have a customer or client most likely there was a time when you didn't know them or what they even wanted. At the most you might consider them a prospect if you even knew their name.

So how do you go about getting someone interested in what you are doing? If you are able to talk with them in person or on the phone you might begin by asking questions. If you are trying to reach them through the internet you need to find a way to attract them to your website. I would imagine that you are familiar with the term "attraction marketing". First made famous by Mike Dillard and his book,"Magnetic Sponsoring.

Well there have been many variations taken from that idea and are being practiced by some of the most successful online marketers. You have probably done it yourself, like when you did something or said something to someone with the intention of getting to know them better. You made yourself "attractive" to them.

The only reason you are even reading this far in my letter is that something I said, or perhaps the title, attracted you. Something interested you and encouraged you to read further. If that is the case them I have been successful in attracting you into my world.

The next question is why would I want to attract you? Is it because I have something to sell you? Is it because I want to share an idea, maybe a political idea, and encourage you to see it from my point of view? Could be these and any number of other reasons. Turns out that it is none of these.

The reason I wanted to attract you is because I have something to give you...for free, something that will very likely help you earn money from your business. So why would I want to give you something free? It's simple, if I can help you get to know me, and like me and trust me there is a good possibility that when it comes time to make you a business offer you might be more open to listening to what I have to share with you.
